White smoke out of exhaust

OK, so I changed my oil about 300 miles ago. Ever since I have had the car I have been runing synthetic oil in it. This time around I really needed to change the oil but couldnt afford synthetic so I went with regular castrol. So now my exhaust is smoking, so I am pretty sure it is burning the oil. I get paid today so I am gonna buy my usual oil. So my question is, will this stop the smoking and should I get a new filter too, even though it was changed 300 miles ago?

youd better'd hope your wrong and the smoke is blue. if its white, what you need to do is check your dipstick and see if there are any beads of water or coolant on it muxed with the oil. if so, your screwed. Bad head gasket. if not then if you have a stock turbo you could have a leak in your oil line and its dripping into your exhaust, same problem im having. However, a car should never burn oil, no matter what kind it is. you should jack that bad boy up and see whats wrong with him.

I am pretty sure the smoke is white. Also I have a n/t. So you think that it might be burning coolant?

does it only smoke for a few min at startup???? or does it smoke after you drive it for while????

White smoke usually has an odor that is definatly not oil if you get a whif of it you should be able to determine if its oil or anti-freeze.

It smells like burning oil. It smokes at idle, but not any other time.

Check your spark plugs if you have any oil deposits. If there is nothing, do a compression test. If the test is normal, I would try and switch back to your regular oil.

if the smoke is white, it shouldnt smell like oil.............if it only does it at start up then i think your fine.................

my old non turbo was similar. it was leaky valve seals.

also, check your pcv valve.
