Hi all, I've gone through the post of electrical connections on the engine bay for the 2G DSM.
My car has a lot of wires hanging around near the oil filter housing, but the colors don't seem to match all of the colors mentioned on that post.

There is one yellow and red, yellow, and blue with white. Does the yellow goes to the oil pressure gauge?

Also I can't connect my ELM327 to do a basic datalog.
I have checked the following connections and they have continuity to the ECU pins.

I opened the ECU and it seems like some capacitors are done, I'm not sure if that might be causing the error on the connection with the elm327.

Also I don't have the RPM's but I haven't looked at that circuit.

Any help would be appreciated

Don't know if DSM's in Central America are the same as in USA but here's how the 2g turbo USA ones are:

Yes ECU leaking capacitors will cause problems (possibly even your tach). The tach signal originates from the all white wire on the power transistor and goes to ECU pin 58 and the tach on the dash (pin 24 on C-05).

Some of those wires don't look factory or are faded.

I will work on the tach signal and ECU components on the weekend. Today I did a couple of things, connected the dummy light to the correct source and now it seems to work ok. Also I connected the Yellow and Red cable to the oil pressure gauge sender but the oil gauge doesn't move.
Previously the AFR was way too rich, always between 10.5 and 12.5, today looking around I found that the previous owner had connected the main o2 sensor to the cruise control plug. After connecting the o2 sensor to the correct plug the car now has a better idle and better afr overall.
I also have to fix the high beams because they are not functioning. My eclipse has the 97-99 headlights and they seem to have integrated the electric plugs, so I will need to test if the wiring is correct.
 
Little update on the tach signal, the problem was the circuit that operates the coils who drive the RPM's needle. Both of the electrolytic capacitors of 10uF were done, so I replaced them and now it works
I also cleaned the contacts that are like small spikes

Even though I changed the capacitors on the ECU I still don't have the OBD2 port working

Yes, I just checked again
Between 4 & 16, and 5 & 16 I have 14V, and previously I checked the continuity between the OBD2 and ECU

I have another question related to the oil gauge sender unit. I have not tested yet grounding the Y-R cable so the oil pressure gauge goes up, but I was thinking, If I check the voltage at the "sensor" what voltage should I read at idle? Or what I'm saying doesn't make sense?
 
Voltage is meaningless. It's the current flowing that determines the oil pressure gauge reading (no current is gauge minimum, max current is gauge maximum). Ground the oil pressure sender's yellow-red with the ignition on (engine off) and the gauge should move to full reading after a few seconds. That will tell you if everything is working upstream of the sensor.
 
Today I did that and the connection is working properly, now the question is if the oil pressure is that low that it doesn't read anything on the cluster or if the sensor is broken
 
On DSM's the oil gauge always reads extremely low at idle (barely above the lower hash mark). It should increase with RPM however or there is a problem. If you're really suspicious measure the oil pressure with a gauge.
 
I tried holding the rpms at 5K and that didn't move the oil gauge, in the future I will check the oil pressure with an external gauge.

For anyone wondering about the headlights not working, In my case I have 97-99 headlights and they have integrated the plug for the bulbs. That connection has a shared ground that was connected to the black wire. Our cars have a shared positive, and there is a ground for the low beams and another for the high beams. The red-blue is the common positive, black is the ground for low beams and red is ground for high beams.
