As some of you know I just got my 2g last night. While I am still working on some of the issuse, some more arose : \ . The Brake lights, tail lights, interior lights and dash lights all stopped working. I replaced the fuse for the brake lights and interior which now work. But the tail lights, well, there was a tab from a soda can stuffed in it (under the hood fuse box) and the dash lights, well all the fuses for that are fine

The tail lights arent working no matter what I do. I see there are 3 fuses for that? 2 normal ones and one bigish one in the engine bay box? I have not replaced that one yet.

The dash lights worked last night just fine. Me and a lady friend went to eat, came back to the car and as we were leaving the dash lights sloowllyyy dimmed and then turned off completely and I cant get them back : ( . Checked the 2 fuses I knew of, under the dash and in the bay.

Any other ideas??

Check the engine bay tail lamp fuse. It supplies the taillights, markers, and dash lights. If you get the taillights working but not the dash lights suspect the dimmer. If you short the dimmer's black/yellow wire to it's black or ground (after disconnecting it) and the dash goes on full, your dimmer is shot. They are pricey. Suggest getting a used one or leave it shorted.

Thanks for those ideas guys. I will look in to it here soon today. So humid out though : ( Makes even checking the mail a bi***.

I checked and replaced all fuses today since I tried to do it in the dark last night with my phone as a flash light.

Any one know what else is involved in the circuit for the dash and tail lights? I dont think it is the dimmer since the tail lights are out also?

I switched the relays for the head lights and tail lights and the head lights still worked, so I guess thats not it. The under hood box had half a soda can tab as a fuse for the tail lights slot, I put a normal fuse there, and check the one inside. Both are fine now, but still no dash or tail lights. Everything else is fine though.

Any ideas where I can check anything else??

Thanks,
Dan

Check to see if any of your marker lights work. And your license plate lights. If it is just your tail lights then pull them out to make sure they are the correct type of bulb. It should be a dual filament bulb one for the dimmer tail light and another for the brake/turn signal. I have had just one of the filaments in the bulbs burn out before the other one does and it makes for an interesting diagnosis.
