I need to smog my car in california i did the pretest everything went just fine even with my mods, EXCEPT for My EGR is not working, I havn't done the block off mod to it or anything just need to know how to get it working so i can smog, its got no vaccume at idle or when driving. What all could be wrong with it? hoping its not the EGR valve as a new one would cost $93 and be special order non returnable. please hlp i need to smog SOON.

Hey, you seem to know a lot so i was hoping I could ask you about my EGR. i need to smog and i failed the first go around here in California for EGR not fuctioning. Do you happen to know if the valve clogs really easy or anything? on one tube their is vaccume at the correct range the other no vaccume, i chased the lines to the throttle body and the same thing, on good one bad, but i notice on the throttle body it looks like there are three output but on the two closest to the firewall have bungs and hoses, do you know if thats normal? also the power plug for the EGR valve has some sort of wax or grease on it, i think its most liley conductivity gel? Also i'm getting the MIL/CEL fail on my smog too but doing some searching i'm seeing its a common problem and that i pretty much have to go to the dealership and pay them 240 for a one time fix untill i smog next time around, could the two be related at all?
