EGR block off plate now smoking.

Okay, so I did the good old gasket and block off plate trick for my failed EGR.

I however did not remove the vacuum lines because I heard it does not do anything other than clean up the engine bay.

After I ran it for literally 40 seconds to pull it out of the garage I noticed a TINY bit of white smoke coming from the exhaust.

Is it normal for the car to smoke a bit after doing the EGR block off trick?

Also my car no longer idle surges

if i remember there are two vac lines that go to the egr valve did you block them off sense you left everything else in there? if not you just created a boost leak.

No i didn't But I'll go do that.

Okay, so I know what vac lines are going into the EGR because they are easily visible.

I am having a hard time tracing them or finding a diagram i can enlarge enough to be able to read.

I circled what I think are the vacuum lines (from the different colors of the vac lines), can anyone tell me if these are the correct spots to cap off?

Btw my car is no longer smoking and it is boosting just fine. The throttle response and idle is AMAZING though.

I cant see the pic you sent, I deleted all of mine and capped off all ports, do they run to that cluster behind the IM? I dont remember you could plug the end or loop them in to each other.

I heard the one with the red stripes should be left on because it does something for the fuel. Anyone know if that is true?

I dont think that vacuum lines does anything for fuel. If i can understand what your talking about for the line with the red lj e, thats uppose to be going after ther throttle body for a good clear vacuum if you wan tv to tap a boost line to it
