EGR Block Off CEL?

If I block off my EGR will I get a CEL. I am NOT going to remove the EGR equipment. I know Cali and N/T guys do, but what about 2g's?

Yea you will get a code and it will most likely idle different, but on the plus side no more dirty exhaust gas in your intake. I did it and can't complain.

It will trip out your ecu, so as long as you don't mind the check engine light.

If your going to block the EGR might as well get rid of the other useless emissions equipment. If you do decide to remove the equipment here is a old diagram from taboo. As long as you don't disconnect the sensors you wont get a CEL

I believe 2gs are more sensitive in this matter.

I am only going to block it off. Thats it. Not unplugging anything or removing anything. Already bought the block off.

I think it will still will go off because that is the the job of the map/mdp sensor (to check that the egr valve is working properly).

The CEL is thrown by a missing or inoperative solenoid. However, there is no performance gain from EGR removal, and there is more thermal load on the engine in removing it. As has been discussed many times on ths site.
