ecu question?!?

Ok so i just took my 'new' talon for a spin and as im going it is running good and then i start hearing clicking from the ecu area and the car dies. Crank it back up and again the same. I pulled the ecu out and it looks cherry on the board. What else could cause this? Fp relay?

First you need to find where the clicking is coming from. It's most likely the MPI or FP relay. On the 95 they are both in the same can bolted to the right console stay shown here. Unbolt it and hold your finger on the can when you here the clicking to verify. If so try to feel for the click on the right or left side of the can to determine which relay it is. Both are operated from the ECU but at least you then have a starting point.

I figured it had to be but just wanted to verify before i spend anything on a new one. Are they in the same location on a 1g? As for testing them, it was pretty random, like one is on the way out but not quite ready to jussst yet

ECU may be at fault also (or some of it's inputs) but first suspect the relay.

So i found out my issue is not the fuel pump relay. When i start the engine cold, it will crank and run for about a min, then will not start after. I can hear the pump running, but i noticed that sometimes the tach moves while cranking it over, sometimes it doesnt. The boost gauge will move up when the ignition is switched, but not every time. I was thinking the ecu is bad, but the board looks like new. It also has a remote start which does not work, even though the keyless entry does. Anyone have any ideas?
