Was just reading some dumb post about putting a wrx ecu in a dsm....uh. okay, well my question is would you be able to put an evo8 ecu into a 1g. I know there are pins and wires that are different but they ARE the same motor. Just a question, not really saying im goin to do this but if i did what would the benifits be?

What benefits would there be?

None that I can see.

You can't tune it without a "flash" or a piggyback (afc, etc).

I mean say you get bigger injectors and the turbo thats on the evo 8 now....arent there different fuel maps? How is the evo making so much more hp and torque than dsms if they're the same displacement and if you got one, the same turbo?

It's a bit more involved than just different injectors and turbo between the two engines and not all the EVO VIII parts will just move over. For example your not going to easily move the twin scroll turbo over without a bit of additional supporting hardware.

As far as the ECU swap, if you really wanted to you could but a EPROM ECU, DSMlink, or a standalone will allow you to tune for just about anything your going to hang off your 4G63.
