1G ECU Problems 5903 Talon

So I have a big problem. I have a no connect on my ECU but putting 12 volts into C-59 pin 102. I am getting 12v out of pins C-61 2 and 3. But am not getting the turbo gauge reset to zero nor the check engine light coming on.

When hooked up to the car. It will kick over but no fire to the coil pack. Python flashed ECU 6262 for a 92 turbo non awd immediately recognizes and starts right up. But it runs like crap because that was set for Python injectors not what ever it has in it. Also ECU 6263 plugs in gives signal and allows a start.

Initially I thought it was the 34 year old ignition coil pack went out, so I replaced that. Then I thought it was the CAS possibly, but thought about it and what is the worst case nightmare situation and that was it was the ECU.

So I got in and took it out plugged up the other 2 and they both allowed start. I then took it to a electronic shop to check the cap's . The ECU shows everything as the others on voltage. on every pin and cap. What could be wrong to where it and only it is not linking up ? Did the main chip lose flash or something?

I did try to contact ECMTuning via email, but I think they might think it was a joke/prank since I said it was for the 90 vert..

Firstly I wanted to see if they would even accept it. But thanks I saved the link and will most likely send it out to them. Just once this thing leaves my possession something happens and it goes poof I'm screwed.

I understand that. It sounds like it needs repairs, for sure. The quicker you can get it to them, the quicker you’ll get some feedback and test results and your refreshed ECU back.

Why would you be screwed? ECUs are available.

The MD145903 is the right one for a 90 Turbo AWD car where both the MD166262 and the MD166263 are for 91-92 Turbo AWD cars (Federal and California respectively) and require pins 6 and 14 swapped along with changes to the ignition system when used in a 1990 car and additional work for the California emission version.
