I can't seem to shift into reverse at all. 2nd gear is also difficult to get into. 1st gear grinds unless you have been stopped for a couple seconds. it has a brand new clutch (oem type nothing special) and new throw-out bearing. it has decent play at the slave cylinder (bout an inch maybe inch and a half) and does not appear to have leaks at either cylinder. also when i let off the clutch there is like a grinding noise unless i push the clutch all the way to the floor. i have already bled it too. i also did the clutch master cylinder adjustment about 4-5 turns and it only helped a little. i need some advice badly.

Classic symptoms of worn syncros (especially 1st gear). Test them here: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/newbie-forum/313040-first-constant-grind.html

Reverse idler gear teeth are worn. It often works however if you let the clutch pedal up slightly while trying to shift into reverse.

The clutch adjustment proceedure mentioned by njdaewoo should also be done however it usually won't help reverse.

sorry i haven't checked lately. yes the adjustment to the clutch master cylinder did help me before but it was a little while after that i started having problems with 2nd 4th and reverse. and i tried letting off the clutch some and it didn't help me into reverse at all. thanks for ideas guy!:thumb:

definately sounds like worn synchros as luv2rallye said. my reverse sometimes doesnt want to go in and same with the 1st. I can deal with it by double clutching. follow the video above, I have seen it on many threads and it seemed to help solve clutch/shifting issues for quite a few people. Usually upgrading to good gear oil helps synchros a bit. Many people have been having exact same problems on here. Use the search feature, I found it to be extremely useful on this website. Good luck finding your problem.
