EBAY intercooler piping

Two of my friends have it actually, but not me, i have greddy.. Let me give you a quick review compared to the greddy.

Fitment- fits nicely, everything was supplied and as long as you have t-25, is all direct bolt on, greddy has nicer couplings though, greddy piping wall is a little thicker, both flanged for greddy blowoff valve, flange isnt quite as nice on the ebay, but acceptable.

appearance- Piping is nice and chrome like, looks shinier than the greddy and is overall very nice.

Functionality- The bend near the intercooler on the uicp is pretty crucial compared to the more curved greddy, i would be willing to bet that the greddy flows way better in that portion, but the ebay special is pretty good quality for the tuner-on-a-budget.

A friend of mine is making 312 hp with that uicp, it would be interesting to bolt on my greddy uicp and see if it changes the numbers on the dyno, maybe i will try and get him to do that on his next dyno trip.

yeah thx im gonna go ahead and grab the greddy pipes with the type-rs blow off valve and the re-cerculating kit. thx guys :dsm: :thumb:

I just bought that exact same setup today from my shop today. $570 with taxes parts and installation. :dsm:

I would highly recommend not getting the ebay intercooler piping. The price is very attractive, but the quality is absolutely junk. The metal it is made out of is like chrome plated aluminum foil. It is just really chincy garbage, I promise you. There are many vendors who carry a much higher quality product then that. Good luck with your project!

the fact that the seller doesn't list the diameter or the material used just scares me. and that one bend pictured is just plain awful, i think that's the one Denji mentioned. how hard is it to do custom piping on a DSM? i know the engine bay is more cramped than most hondas, but this seller has a pretty good product at a great price

all mandrel bent, aluminized steel. on a somewhat related topic, i have a brand new 1g GT Pro (manufactured by ADFX Racing, technically) intercooler kit i'm trying to sell. who wants it?

Intercooler hard piping will not yield any extra horsepower, spools the turbo quicker, and more durable than the cheap rubber pipes.

I have them on, and it runs a whole lot better than stock rubber tubes. I personally think they all work the same, there all aluminum and air flow faster in them.

i guarantee they're not all aluminum. most are just mild steel, slowly gets better at aluminized steel or stainless steel, and the best (thermally speaking) is solid aluminum. for flow, the material doesn't matter whatsoever, but theoretically aluminum will yield lower intake temps. i doubt this matters at anything other than race level...anybody know for sure?

yea the better flow will bump your powerband forward (turbo spools faster like redfury said) and should help your quarter-mile and stuff, but not your peak hp.

Ouch, i had my Greddy IC pipes and Type RS shipped to my door for 404.00. If you wanted to save 170 bucks you could put the pipes and blow off valve on in 20 minutes by yourself. Plenty of info on how to do if you needed it.

EXACTLY u noticed that elbow bend, its plain nasty. I wasnt sure at all if i should go with those after seeing a bend like that and comparing it to the greddy or dejon tools but wouldnt the dejon tools still flow abit better over the greddy since it elimantes the elbow and has a really nice mandrel bent curve? :dsm: :thumb:

So on a 2G, you are saying a new Upper Pipe will not yield any power gains? I have disagree with you on that one. Though I have never done a before/after dyno of this, it's pretty obvious on when you are driving, that there is a difference after you lose that crap stock piece that goes under the airbox.
