hey guys. I came accross a turbo on ebay that just looks to good to be true. It is a gt35r ball bearing turbo, FOR ONLY 300-400 DOLLARS. This just seems unbelivalbe so i am asking you guys if anyone had gotten one of these turbos. The user on ebay selling them is named Turbos. The ebay item number is: 230029133686
I messaged the guy selling them and asked him who made these turbos and he said that they had garret internals with standard housings. Has anyone heard anything about this? I really want to bid on this turbo and pay a fraction of what they normaly cost but it just seems to good to be true. Any opinions are also welcome.
Thanks

I wish you guys could see his feedback, it's a riot.

He used to buy ebay knock off turbos and resell them as the real deal. He would name the turbo's himself sometimes, calling them a "blowzilla" or something like that, but usually would call the turbos the real thing. Once people got their stuff, they would leave negitive feedback saying its junk knockoff crap. This happened quite a few times. He then would buy a few dozen penny auctions to get his feedback up, and do it again.

I remember seeing his feedback months ago and couldn't believe he's not banned. I am now not surprised he has his feedback as "private".

If I had ebay, I would message each bidder with this information, but those are kept private also. Go figure!

He has 5 negitive and 216 positive. I think you migt have this seller mistaken for someone else.

I will have my Turbonetics version in on Monday. I will post pics and all info then.:thumb:

Ive had a big 16g off ebay i ran for about 20k miles up to 17 psi. It still holds well and i still has no shaft play what so ever.
I guess its just the luck of the draw.

Good turbo for fairly cheap.
:rocks:

I Bought a GT35R spec turbo from that buyer on ebay acouple months ago i still have it never used it was planning on using it on my VW. What i did notice is even though its supposed to be a ballbearing turbo it does not spin as freely as my friends Real GT35/40R i also have a Garrett GT3782 Journal Bearing wich spins about the same rate as the Ebay GT35R spec Turbo. I plan on taking it to Cherryturbos to open it up and see exactly what it looks like inside before i install it on my car.

I believe "heavy-load" items such as turbos should not be bought of ebay simply because there is no way to tell if they would break until they actually do; visual inspections do not tell you about the quality of the metal used. When they do break, they might break something else.

Well Ebay has lots of goodies but turbos is a gamble. I was well aware that it probably wasnt what the seller claims it is. Turbo looks good no shaftplay but i will take it to the guy my mechanic deals deal from cherryturbos to see if its actually a ballbearing or if i dealt with false advertising.

Ebay has several diffrent versions of the gt35r. I am lookin into buying another car and makin my talon my weekend warrior and was thinkin about getting a gt35r and selling my gt14 and noticed there are some that sell for like 500 and some that go for 1200. So you guys are saying just because they sell the others for 1200 and not 500 they're good. Sounds like you guys ASS U ME that more money equals better quality.:notgood:

Ok seller....Product was a XS power unit... could've paid less from SSAC...

Told you so? All his auctions are still "private", for obvious reasons.

Moral of the story: read eBay auctions VERY carefully, then read them again. The better attitude is to assume it's fake and prove it's real beyond a shadow of a doubt instead of the opposite. Sadly, most people get too excited and do the opposite.
