To Good to Be True Exhaust???

C'mon guys, an exhaust is the simplest part on your car that you need to upgrade. Buy yourself a bullet muffler and a 3" inlet, 4" exit muffler and have your local exhaust shop weld you up a full 3". Should be less than $250 all told and not too loud

Exactly. Mine looks horrible from underneath the car. Besides if the welds suck then reweld them and reweld the hangar on the muffler. Good lord its not like the damn thing is kevlar or some weird thing.

got me an ebay special 3" turbo back... 300 shipped and came with 2 resinators and a 4" outlet muffler and silencer if I wanted... reeeaaaaallly quite at idle and growls with throttle.... no farty sound... I welded up my own test pipe and fitment was AWESOME! I do see a little rust around the hanger welds tho... but everything is real stainless.... just the welds are getting a little rusty...

I think people can get weird about exhaust when it's not as serious... as long as everything is sealed well and there's no crazy bends then its all you need IMO

I am surprised how people here discourage ebay parts. i know somethings you buy aren't good but that doesn't mean everything that way. i have a cat-back on my gst for 5 years now. when i installed the fitment was perfect And It Only Cost Me $278.00 Shipped 2 my Door. and to this day it hasn't a drop of rust on the piping nor the canister. and it gave me power gains to! i say go for it!! why spend $500+ on and apexi n-1 exhaust that the piping's gonna rust in an month?...

I would rather buy parts from vendors but the fact is they are fine with exhaust.

Well maybe thats why your GST is slow because you would spend 800 on a apex exhaust instead of an ebay exhaust that will do the exact same thing. we are not talking Internal parts like Cams, Turbo, Piston or rods. we are talking about Exhaust. how many times do you tell people "hey lay on the ground and look at my stainless steel exhaust?" probably never because we all own a DSM and know that its covered in oil and we dont want to be embarassed.

I hope you aren't saying an authentic Apexi N1 would rust in a month. I've had two and they were both absolutely top-notch. I agree with the general consensus on here that eBay exhaust are just fine. If you are looking to build on a budget, an exhaust would be one of the few bits I'd say go generic on and put the money you save into some more meaningful mods. As long as a caveman isn't doing your welding job, a 3" generic will flow just fine.

Is This For Me Or For Slow-Dsm?WTF

Not for you :thumb:

but I find it hard to spend 800 on an apex from a vendor when a ebay will do the same for 300.

Yeah I Get You Ebay Exhaust's Are The Same As Brand Names For 1/2 Of The Price Of A Brand Name One. I Have One And I Don't Regret It. Sorry 4 The Repost :p My Internet Connection Got King Of Laggy And I Didin't Know If The Post Was Published:D

Ps: Have You Had Any problems With Cops?
I Don't Know About You Guys But Here In Puerto Rico Cops Pull You Over Just Cause You Have An Exhaust... Not Because Its Loud Exhaust WTF They Just See The Shiny Exhaust And Pull You Over... I Remember When I Was With My Brother On His BONE STOCK Evo And There Was A Little Roadblock (Just A Cop Out Of His Patrol Car Wachting Cars To Stop Them And Give Tickets) And Like A Soon As The Cop Saw The Car Coming He Like Told Us To Stop And Because My Bro Had Polished The STOCK EXHAUST the wanted to give him a fine for supposedly having an exhaust! B.S. isn't?
Damn Cops...

I've never had a cop pull me over for anything but speeding. I don't know if you can do this where you're at, but anytime I get pulled over the first thing I tell them is I have a licensed firearm on me - it gets me off the hook every time. They get caught up talking guns and forget about the ticket :D

technically its illegal here in Iowa for anything other than stock replacement exhaust.

I dont get any problems with them I see them I push the clutch in and put by them.

Yeah I Use That Trick To! Here You Just Gotta Be Awake And Be Looking On The Mirror Usually On The Weekdays The Don't Give Tickets But The Do Give A Lot On Street Racing Nights!

I think its crazy buying cheap things for the car your supposed love.. :nono: If your gonna do something do it right and stop wasting money on things that your not gonna be happy with and hide it when a person with a real exhaust passes buy.. :banghead: this is my new HKS Hi-power full catback, it'll be on this weekend.

Not to nitpick, but I don't think this statement is fair, or accurate. A $200 3" custom exhaust from an exhaust shop is going to flow nearly as well as a $800 SS exhaust. The main thing you're sacrificing is sound, looks, and possibly longevity. If it performs as well as your $800 exhaust system, then I'd say use that $600 on some other more meaningful performance parts. If you're on a budget, an exhaust from eBay or a shop is a perfectly usable alternative that will not have a negative impact on your car, provided it's 3" all the way through. There's a proper way to 'do it right' and still stay comfortably within your financial means. I don't know about you, but I don't crawl under everyone's car and scrutinize their exhaust systems for shininess and brand-name. Of course, if you'd rather spend money on making your car look its best, then I completely understand where you're coming from.

Yeah I guess oh and this exhaust will be 3 inch al the way, I had the magna flow and the apex i N1 both looked clean but with the custom bent right pipe it was too loud or just rumbled too much.. I've had my car for 5 weeks now and I think I'm doing everything right so far,, :hmm: the full pipe HKS should be better sound quality plus it will match with my parts better too.. ;)
