Ebay FMIC and Evo3 16g

Okay, I've tried to research this a fair ammount so I'm hopping this thread won't be overkill. The set up I have currently on my car is an Evo III 16G w/ a 1st gen head swap and a bunch of supporting mods. Now from the research I've done the XS kit is supposedly the best Ebay FMIC. I just had two more questions. First, I need to buy a J pipe in order to make the FMIC piping fit with the 16g is the Dejon tool one a good choice? The second question I had was will there be any complications due to the headswap from the fact that I'm running a 1 gen intake manifold. Lastly I've head the couplers that come with the kit are pretty crappy and I was wondering what would be a good site to get some better quality silicon ones. Thanks for any help.

There shouldn't be any problems with using a different head. You can get a J-pipe for a FMIC from Dejon, SBR, or several others. The couplers that come with it are actually quite good. They're something like 4-ply, and it comes with T-bolt clamps, so you should be set there.

Since you have a 1g intake mani. you will need to probably make a custom pipe using a 1g upper icp for the throttle body and weld it to the rest of a 2g uicp, yes a dejon j-pipe will work. Ive heard a lot of good things about the XS fmic's so that will work perfect for your setup, i chose to get the Dejon kit and spent a little extra money but the XSwill be fine. hope that helps.

Edit. unless you still have the 2g throttle body you can get a normal 2g uicp.

Do this. Get the DeJon tool J-Pipe in 2 1/4. The couplers with the kit are fine...you will just need 2 more and 4 more clamps.

Go to napa and get a foot of 2 1/2 inch radiator hosing and use that for couplers. It will work prefectly. Thay sell T-bolts as well.

The information about the uicp is incorrect. The XS kit includes a 2.5" throttle body elbow that bolts to the throttle body and short route UICP that is coupled to the throttle body. As long as you are using a 1g or 2g mitsubishi throttle body the only thing you will need to make the XS kit work is a J-Pipe from one of the aforementioned vendors.
