ebay exhaust systems?

This site may earn a commission from merchant affiliate links, including eBay, Amazon, and others.

There are other EBAY catbacks, that do not have that, and where it meets the cat is 2.75". Not enough of a neck down to actually matter. But there are some where it necks down significantly to 2.25-2.5".

Please review this exhaust

i will when it comes in its gonna take a few days for my pay pal to clear and for it to ship. ide say about 2 weeks just because i live in Maine and it takes for ever to get things shipped to me.

haha I got one very similar for that for 100 bucks, only thing I didn't like about it is that the "hangers" for the exhaust system are just welded to the exhaust....they could have at least put them in a bag separate instead of welding them to the actual exhaust.

I'm sure it's a pretty easy fix, just have a shop cut them off and re-weld them were the exhaust hangers are for the stock locations.

I don't know what you are looking at but it clearly says free shipping.

Also even if it was that price, that is still a good price.

How much cheaper do we need our parts, they keep getting cheaper.

There are a few variant of EBAY catbacks. If the one pictured is the one they give you, then watch out for that squeezed portion which might be a restriction.

95-99 Eclipse GST Turbo Talon N1 Catback Exhaust 98 97 :eBay Motors (item 360165534101 end time Jul-25-09 16:37:03 PDT)

wow this is really really cheap ive tried to contact the seller but i have nothing back yet on what size piping this is and it doesnt seem to have hangers but for that price who cares about that... i am pretty sure that i am goin 2 purchase this next weekend when i get my paycheck and i will write a full review with pics... i hope that:pray: that this product is as pictured...only time will tell cant wait till next friday:D

Question: What the hell is this thing poorly welded (if you can ever consider that a weld) on the side of the muffler case? Don't exhaust hangers typically protrude from the system to reach a hanger?

If the Eclipse system is equal in quality as that one pictured, then I'd steer clear of it. Unless you don't mind paying for a low quality, sub-par product.

well there's your answer as to why it is so cheap...it's probably a production mistake and now they want to get rid of it. if you don't care if that hanger looks silly, buy it. you can take it to a muffler shop and they'll weld the proper hangers to it and install it for you for like 30 bucks.

idk what that is but alot of the low priced ebay exhaust have it....still doesnt change my mind about it tho....review soon to come!!!

Please do a review with pics. I have emailed the seller and have not got a response back either.

If you go back a section into the (auto racing exhaust) section and look at the rest of the exhausts being sold...they all seem to be 2.25"

I don't know if that one is or not being that it doesn't give the size but I would guess it is as well since its in the same price range.

At the tip of the poorly welded hanger there is a threaded piece for a screw that holds it to the rubberized piece under the car.
I just figured they were adding insult to injury by drilling an unneeded hole in a poorly placed hanger.

The hole isn't threaded and there's not much room for a nut either. I'd like to see how that crap is intended to work on whichever car it's made for.

Whats the giant square dent in the piping all about? Am I the only one seeing this or what? That and the hanger both look like garbage.
My guess is that it was done for added clearance from a rear axle, etc...
Obviously not the best method for gaining clearance, but it's a cheap method.

We bought a stainless 3" turbo-back system for my buddy's Evo VIII on eBay for $185 two summers ago. It's still on the car, but it's rusted to hell. Apparently Chinese stainless steel rusts when exposed to Pennsylvania winters.

I'm not saying it won't fit or it won't give you the same gains as a similar-designed 3" system, but be prepared for the fiberglass packing to blow out or the tubing to rust if you're trying to get 5+ years out of it.

....and this all was discussed literally two days ago. http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/newbie-forum/340567-ebay-gst-catback-73-bucks.html
