ebay exhaust systems?

Hey guys. I know there's not a whole lot of 1g love on this thread so I thought I would contribute. I'm in the process of purchasing a turbo back exhaust from a guy (Megan downpipe, SR*S catback) for 370 shipped. I'll let you all know how it turns out. I think I'm going to get an ebay tubular o2 housing as well. We will see how it all goes.

I'm installing like 1500 dollars worth of parts all at once, and doing lots of maintenance things so it'll be awhile but i'll try to get some pictures and a video of the sound quality.

I was just curious what anyone's recent experience has been. I've been looking at ebay exhausts and so far I've been leaning toward an Option Racing catback and downpipe which should come to me at about $240 shipped. Are there any better deals out there for a 2g fwd? I'll have to spend a bit more because I'd like a more stealth muffler and I want to take out the area that necks down at the union. Any suggestions on a budget stealth muffler?

First one looks like it has less bends and is more free flowing. Didn't look at the listing really so I'm not sure on sizes.

I prefer the more expensive exhaust system with the two resonators before the muffler (2nd choice). I have a similar cat back that I bought over five years ago. (Tsudo Fireball) It got a little louder over time but stills sounds really good today. Better than new in my opinion. I have a hunch that the cheaper muffler-only exhaust will be annoying loud; if not sooner, then later.

i think i may go with the bbp its 2.5 and from what ive bean reading they make a good product good welds hangers go where ther supposed to the bbp is also 135 shipped cant beet that

Well 1g guys, I took the plunge and ordered a stainless 3" exhaust with 4.5" muffler for my 90 GSX from japanimportshop. It was $249 shipped. I also ordered a stainless downpipe for $84.00 shipped from another vendor on eBay. I have an HX-35 in the garage waiting for a turbine housing and was distressed at putting such an awesome turbo on a stock exhaust. I will let you know next weekend how it all goes. According to the listings the downpipe is 2.5" for about 3" from the o2 housing then 3" all the way through and the catback is supposed to be 3" all the way through. I am not keen on the coffee can muffler, but a dual tip magnaflow is in the plans later on. Anyway I'm stoked to get the exhaust and turbo on there.

Can't say the same for my downpipe though. It's holding on quite well I believe but a closer inspection is needed. I might go with a true Apexi N1 if I can find one used.

Mine is older than that, and is just fine. Was the one you purchased stainless?

I bought an ebay exhaust system. 3'' SRS cat-back. Everything came with it, bolted up prefectly, all the hangers were in the right place. Said it was stainless steel... but its been on my car for 2 weeks and started to rust. I called the company and they said they would file a claim with the manufactuer.. so i'll let you know what happens.

Otherwise it sounds great and the 4" tip doesnt actually look that bad and it is very very slightly angled up which looks killer. paid

list price- 200 + 50 for shipping...

This exhaust won't even fit your car so there's no point unless you have a 2g FWD hidden somewhere. Regardless, I wanna see if I can contact the seller and maybe they'll issue me a new one.

I got the Megan Ebay knock off, full 3 inch except where it connect to the cat. Sounds good and bolted right up even the hangers lined up.

I just installed my eBay exhaust. I must say that for the money I was very impressed. It seemed very solid and the install was pretty easy. It has a very low mellow sound. No fart can at all. I can barely hear it over my full Prothane motor mount setup (no inserts here). I also just received my $90 downpipe and it seems to be good quality but I can't install it till I get my high flow catalytic converter (have to take it through DEQ). It is a full 3" exhaust with no neck down and is supposedly 100% 304T stainless but only time will tell. It does come with an adjustable silencer and has 2 resonators. Overall I am very pleased, even the shipping was quick.

Just ordered a 3" catback off of ebay for 139.99 with shipping. It seems like a true 3" until it gets to the cat then theres the neck down to that. Thats the only bottle neck I seen in the picture. I will post up pictures when I get it.

Not all the ebay systems are made equally, if you read this entire thread you will see my findings on a particular ebay catback/downpipe for the 2G FWDs. The one we got BARELY necked down, it went down to about 2.75-2.8" I can't recall, not major enough to go and cut it off and spend more getting a 3" attachment. The downpipe was the same way, well it was 2.5" before the flex like most systems, 3" after, then it went down to again 2.75-2.8" to where it meets the catback.

Then there are those I've seen that really necks down to 2.5 or worse 2.25.. or I might be just thinking of the expensive brand name Apex'i, Greddy systems , but seriously there have been postings about it, you really just have to trust the seller and go with the ad where the actual item you will receive is pictured so you get an idea.
