ebay exhaust systems?

This site may earn a commission from merchant affiliate links, including eBay, Amazon, and others.

Be careful with some of those ebay exhaust systems because some are not real stainless steel and rust easily.

Guys, I have honestly searched for about an hour and I cant find what im looking for. Im scoping out an ebay exhaust. This one in particular. I have a GSX, it says that what you see is what you get? All I wanna know is why its bent!?! Im particularly looking for some pictures UNDER car of the exhaust. I understand not everyone has a lift to do so but im pretty sure someone has something.

I got the downpipe from Tuningpros

It was a Megan 3", didn't fit O2 housing, had to take out studs and use nuts/bolts.

It now rests against my oil line, hoping that won't be a problem.

The catback fit decent, and sounds nice and quiet, yet good toned.

Only problem was it comes with a stupid 2.25" adapter, so I hadda go to Meineke and get a custom 3" adapter made for $30.00

Megan said they are coming out with a revised GSX downpipe in a month, and they will replace mine when the new ones come in (New = neck down for clearance for nuts, bolts, oil line, transfer case, etc etc)

T-pros on my car too! :thumb:

I picked up a catback on ebay. I think its good to get one, but expect to get it welded on instead of expecting it to just fit. If it fits then lucky day for you, mine didnt.

for 2g awd guys
I just bought this full 3" exhaust and I highly recommend it. It is only a little more than the japanimport one. I got one for $280 shipped

eBay Motors: DSM 95-99 Talon Eclipse AWD 3" G-Power Exhaust Downpipe (item 220169690376 end time Nov-17-07 18:11:11 PST)

Just to let all of you guys know, I got this same exhaust. It came in yesterday and I took my buschur racing 3" system off and bolted this one up right in my driveway in about an hour and a half. It went on pretty well except for the downpipe holes where it connect's to the o2 housing had to be opened up a little. I used a dremel and took me like 5 minutes to get it right and then it went right on. Also had to bend the hanger on the muffler to get it lined up and not touching my bumper.

Overall, I would say this exhuast is a 9 out of 10 (only because I had to modify it minorly to fit). It sound's amazing and the finish and welds are superb. I took the buschur off because there was a bad leak in my flex section and I really didn't like the way it looked from the back of the car.(bought the car with it already on) This is by far the best $299 I've ever spent on my car. The BR exhaust is straight from the downpipe all the way back with no resonators then into the muffler and it was pretty loud. This exhaust is a tad quieter but has a very, very deep sound.

For all of you guys who are on the fence about getting this same exhaust system on ebay, I say GO FOR IT!!!!!:thumb: If you have any question's, don't hesitate to ask.

Regards,
Ryan

I sent the guy an offer, but he did not get back w/ me before the auction ended. Hopefully he reposts it and I'll buy it then! Thanks for the reassurance!

I got the exhaust today! Let me say that the build quality is a lot higher than you would expect from a $300 turbo back exhaust.

The only thing that might bother some people with this exhaust is that is is 2.75 inches from the 02 housing down to the flex part of the down pipe; it is 3" from there on back.

The sound is great and it installs with ease, although you might have to bend the hangers on the muffler, it gets close to the bumper. I recommend exhaust to anyone looking to upgrade from a stock exhaust.

I just bought mine today. Hopefully it comes in soon. However, as you can seen in my picture to the left, the car is lacking a few major things.... I'm hoping to drop the engine and tranny in in a couple days, then mount the exhaust. I'll let you know how it works for me!

Well, first of all, that link is for a 1g exhaust.

If you need to keep your cat, then you'll just have to figure out how much of the exhaust the cat takes up then cut that much out and put the flange back on (or put a new one on). Also, you'll need to get a 3" cat since the piping is 3" and you don't want to put a 2.5" cat on there.

Get a 3" cat with a bypass pipe. Open it up until you have to get inspected. A cop won't know the difference anyways. But don't cheap out on the exhaust either. I think the people that had my car before me did because the pipe runs under the rear drive axel and always hits the ground when I hit bumps. Also don't buy from ebay.

EBay Cat-Backs have proven themselves time and time again. I plan on buying from eBay later on... just make sure they seller has a good rating.

I agree, running a 3in exhaust with step downs to 2.5in cats doesn't help out on the flow factor. You can have it installed like that until you have a 3in cat. You should be able to find one relatively cheap. Personally 3in no cats are too loud for my blood. Used to have a similar set up. Not only is it a cop magnet, it get to be a little obnoxious

I'd be careful of some of the Ebay "stainless Steel" exhausts, I've seen more then a couple that have completely rusted through within a year or two. Personally I'd sepnd the extra & get a system from a reputable company, that you know will last, $180 isn't such a great deal if it only lasts a few years. My 2g fwd Apexi N1 system will be up for sale, but that won't be till next spring.

I've been running a full 3 inch turbo back set up directly from Ebay's finest for about a year now. it fit up perfectly - I had to get the neck-down cut off and rewelded but that was only an extra 60 bucks.

The one that is advertised as the same as an N1, or N1 "style".

^^^^The one I got from ebay was a full turbo back for $290 shipped and it was for a 95-99 gsx.

Just go with a megan downpipe, something with proven performance and a good fit instead of taking your chances on ebay. Wait, what? They're selling them on Ebay now too? Damn! ROFL

The megan downpipe is not exactly a good fit, unless you are using the megan o2 housing
