Ebay Exhast manifold deal....

Hey guys Im in the search for a new exhast maniflod....huray my 1g manifold has a few nice cracks on it. any way that brought me to search for a new manifold. I was looking over ebay and noticed that the 2g manifolds were going for a fair price and so i started to bid on a few. well i lost those bids now im on the hunt again. After searching ebay i found 1aautomotive.com an ebay seller selling new 1g manifolds that have been redesigned to resist the problems that the original 1g manifolds had *cracking*. I also found the Pacesetter tubular maniflds. and after allot of searching on this board and mach v forums i decided that even though its a good deal...you get what you pay for. I don't want to go all out crazy modding on this talon. its going to be a daily driver and i want it to be somewhat reliable. would it be ok just to get a new 1g manifold that has had the craking issues worked out or should i just wait for a 2g manifold?....if im keeping it relativly stock will it be that big of a deal? I cant spend a whole lot on mods so i personaly don't see that its worth it.

I believe the ebay manifold are like 80$ + shi[pping? ..you might as well spend the extra 60$ and get an evo III manifold. If you dont know where to find it for 160$ I can give you a link.

have you searched DSMtrader.com i would look there for a 2G mani cuz its a better flowing one and fits fine

Pacesetter seems to be a hit-or-miss company. I'm using their downpipe with no problems, but I've known folks to have problems with their products cracking right where the flanges were welded. Don't buy another 1G manifold. The cracks were due to the materials used to cast these manifolds, not flaws in the design. Besides 2G manifolds have much better flow quality to them.

Go with what rowlex says, keep searching for a 2G or Evo III manifold (did you try the classifieds on this site or the classified section of your local dsm board?).

I'd be careful about some of the crap lurking about on eBay. Unless you're bidding on name brand parts, and you can verify they really are what they say, I wouldn't buy that sort of thing off ebay. Especially if you need reliablity, low cost, etc. Look on DSMtrader and on the classifieds here.

I saw that A1auto ad on ebay also and it looked like a pretty good deal. New, thicker, 2g style manifold for about $60. Hadn't got around to asking if anyone else had experience with them yet like you did
I'd also like to know if anyone has had experience with this company/product so please post up if you know. Thanks.

thanks for the advice guys. im searcing dsmtrader right now. im not really wanting to spend 160 on a n evo3 manifold....so thats kinda out of the question.
