This is my story
i was on the hyway for the first time in 2 years, feels good evo 3 16g at 19 psi :hellyeah:

well after that i stoped on the way home, then when i restarted the car it sounded like a old v8

im seeing a lot of smoke from the exhaust manifold and if i dont give it gas the car stalls

the manifold gasket and the manifold bots got pushed out !!!!!

is that normal

my brake booster vaccum line came off the intake and the car was running lean:ohdamn:
reinstaled the vaccum line properly
then this problem whit the manifold happend

its a 2g ported manifold dose it have someting to do whit that ?

I'm not sure which gasket you're referring to, the one on the head/mani or the one on the mani/turbo. I had the one on my mani/turbo blow in the back passenger-side corner and when it did the corresponding bolt backed itself out. So in my experience it can happen certainly.

What you have to worry about now is whether or not that manifold surface warped. You may need to get it machined flat.

Where you using OEM washers with the bolts? They have a covex shape that prevents the bolts from backing out. The extreme heat generated in that area causes this to happen over time. Ive had o2 bolts back out on me also. Best bet now is to simply just retorque every so often.

the gasket he is talking about is the gasket that goes between the head and the manifold you can pick them up alot of places put a new one one and tighten the bolts down

oem washers

i will change the gasket and then retorque them

is it normal for the car to stall when you have an opening like that ?

if i dont give it gas the car stalls

Did they pull the threads out with them? Thats what i would be worried about. Gasket going bad or bolts shaking loose is no big deal. Tapping the head is a different story. That can be a pain.

Seems to be a very common issues with dsm's as well. I've had to tap quite a few.

Yes. Huge boost leak. Think about it. Your turbo is under the manifold, if you lose pressure, you lose pressure everywhere.

thanks for the explination i was tinking the same , i just want to confirm this whit other dsm ers

the treads are in good shape maybe its my bad becose i did torque the bolt i just dont remeber if i torque them to spec or not

the dolts did shake loose, i hope its not the poly mounts that did this

will take the turbo down to fix some minor oil-collant leak , will install a new gasket and retorque the bolts.
