Is this a blown headgasket or halfmoon gasket?

My car's oil pressure light came on yesterday  , I don't see really any oil leaking out the headgasket, I was just driving normally, Just now I found oil in my MBC line (there clear), theres a good amount of oil on the transmission and on the bottom of my hood, here are some pictures........... Sorry the camera sucks

I will tell you in all seriousness that if the head gasket was blown and throwing that much oil...you wouldn't be asking if the head gasket was blown. You would have the "James Bond smokescreen" going on behind you, that is if it even fired up.

I agree, get some de-greaser and then you can pinpoint where it's coming from. However, my first guess would be that it's blowing out the vent tube that's staring me in the face. You might want to check the PCV valve. If it's not working properly it will allow boost pressure to enter the valve cover area and blow oil out of the afore mentioned vent tube.

Oh yea, the picture needs to be resized.

oh well if your running a oem, then it probally not your h/g for as if you had blown the gasket( as stated above) you would have a major smoke problem out of your tail pipe. is the breather hose on ## valve cover disconected, because if so that might be your problem.

Get some brake clean to clean it all off, dry's really quick, and cleans great. I would go with Jim on this, and say that most of that mess is from the VC if it isn't off for the puroses of the pic. I would say start it up, and check for small holes in any lines carrying oil.

That's cool. I would still recommend checking the PCV valve. There's a reason the "half moon" seal started to leak. The valve cover seal/gasket is not a horrible design and under "normal" circumstances it should not have a sealing issue.

As stated a bad PCV valve will allow boost pressure to enter the VC area and that added pressure has to go somewhere......usually resulting in a "failure" down the line. It's only a 5 minute job to check, and more than likely if it hasn't been changed in a while......

Don't get a PCV valve from Autozone, I read a few posts where they were leaking worse then the old OEM one they had. I would go OEM for sure on that piece...along with a few other pieces as well but thats neither here nor there at the moment.
