Would like to know something really quick. How well do the EVO 3 Big 16G Turbos hold up from ebay. Just got one but have not installed it yet. Waiting to put my MLS, SAFC II and my 650s in all at the same time..The turbo looks great and looks very well made..Just from people that have installed them and ran them, any issues??? Feed back would be great..Thanks…

They made by SSAutochrome and they are garbage... They are POORLY made and I hear nothing but horror stories.. Just buy the one advertised on this site and you'll get satisfaction guaranteed. Re sell the 1 you bought.

Next time spend some time here on tuners by doing a search before making a purchase.

Let us know how it turns out.

Easiest way to tell if it's a knock off Evo 3 16G Turbo is by checking the wastegate actuactor rod. If it's adjustable, then it's knock off brand.

ive put about 17000 miles on mine in the past 2 years, boosted at 18-20 psi, manual turbo timed at about 30 seconds depending on my driving before shutting off. I dont regret buying mine.

I also never had any problems with mine creeping, Until I put on the machv monster turbine housing cause I broke 2 bolts off in the housing.

I dont regret buying mine at all, I even out ran an awd 1st gen running the same boost with a real big 16g turbo, but mine supposedly has a 20g wheel in it.

"The bitterness of poor quality will leave taste in mouth long after the sweetness of lower price has been forgotten."

I thought this quote applied here.

I love that quote...

To the OP, last time I checked eBay did not make turbos, or any product for that matter. They do make lots of money in fees but that is besides the point.

What brand is the turbo? Is it a MHI?
What seller did you buy it from? Post a link to the auction you bought. Just because you bought it on eBay does not mean we know what it is.
There are a few vendors that sell the real MHI E3B16G on eBay, turbochargers.com used to sell the GT's on eBay and then there were several china knock offs for sale on eBay.

To the guy who said that they are all made by SSAutoChrome, you are wrong dude. SSAutochrome does not make anything. It is all made oversees. These companys just buy this crap in bulk and resell it.

Ok here is the link....Like I said it looks good, shaft spins quiet, however I have not put it on yet. and as for the adjustable wastegate <-----Do they already come adjusted or is it another one of those test and tune things???

Anyways here is the manufacturer I go it from.

LOL! Funny, i just made a thread about this exact same turbo yesterday.

Heads up...the same exact turbo can be had for $276.99 on ebay. This is basically a knock off turbo.

Remember, you get what you pay for.

Try it and write a review. These turbos are pretty much hit or miss. One will work great and the other will crack down the side on the first start up. LOL My mechanic had that happen to a turbochargers.com GT evo16g that are susposed to be good for a knock off turbo.

To the OP, I too was thinking of buying an ebay 16g until reading all of the bad things about them and the 1 or 2 good things. I decided just to buy a real Big 16g from Forced Performance yesterday. It's worth the extra 150-200 for the peace of mind of having a well made product...plus there on sale right now for $469!

Another good thing is if you ever decide to change turbos you can sell a real 16g for a pretty good price and get some of your money back.

Agreed... But i went the cheap route only because i am not keeping this car for long, going to be selling it in about 4 months cause i am going to be buying an EVO IX...So i just wanted some input on any issues to look for, you know stuff like that...After i sell the car its someone elses issue..LOL..Thanks
