hey all
quick question
i've been told that brembo is a good rotor company, so i figured i'd check out ebay..
i found these rotors
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...ry=33564&item=7921009829&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW

all four rotors for $230.... seems cheap
i'm wondering if someone took OEM spec brembo's and drilled/slotted them themselves.. in which case, i wouldn't want them...
there's a strange note "Rotors made in ITALY. Cross-drilled/slotted in USA."

anyone have any idea?
don't wanna end up like the guy in the hangout who had his rotor blow apart and total his car.. heh

thanks for the input :)

hey just so you know.. brembo doesnt make a drilled/slotted rotor.. they make a drilled only and a slotted only.. people that are selling drilled/slotted brembo rotors are not actually selling you a true brembo rotor.. brembo wont make a drilled/slotted rotor because they arent safe for everyday street use (meaning they have a tendency to warp and crack more often than other rotors) just FYI..

Actually, if you read the listing, it says "made in Italy, drilled/slotted in USA" Which leads me to believe they are stock replacement Brembo which another vendor purchased and had them slotted and drilled just to resale.

the guy i bought my car off from came w/ brembo slotted/drilled and they make so many werid noises like u said probaly warmped, so i will get new ones soon, whats better slotted or drilled?

i want just plain ol' slotted rotors..
i think i'm just gonna buy power-slot rotors from ptuning.com

i just wanted to know what you guys thought of these on e-bay to see if i could save myself a few $$

thanks all!

edit:
actually, i just checked out turboimport's rotors.. think i'll get bremo's there.. cheap :D
thanks!

thanks c5chris
i've never been to that sight before, but me likes thems prices :p

*wonders why that pic of the B&M they have looks different then a B&M short throw shifter*

before you buy JUST slotted rotors realize that slotted rotors are desinged to run hotter so the pads grip better. If you do make sure you run better(dot4)brakes fluid and good pads so they will work correctly.
Andrew

ps drilled rotors in oem size will work perfectly for most cases.

oh, really?

i didn't realize that OMG

thanks :)

any idea if those AXXIS PBR Metal Master Semi Metallic Brake Pads will be fine for the slotted/dimpled rotors that they're paired with here http://turboimport.com/catalog/eclipse.htm ?

thanks again:)

I will go with ceramics, like Raybestos. It balances long life, low noise and minimal brake dust.

The Axxis pads are ok for track duties but they eat your rotors like crazy.

I have a set of ebay Brembo rotors like those above, along with some Friction Master ceramic pads, and I love them. Little to no dust at all, if there is any it just wipes right off, and also the stopping is alot better then stock.

ok, cool.. so i'll buy their package that doesn't have the pads, and just buy some different pads

thanks again :)

c5chris:
any recomendation on where to buy the Raybestos?
what do you think of hawks? green stuff's?

thanks :)

LOL...
side note:
"Save more when purchasing a full set of front and rear rotors at the same time!"

$239 for front+rear rotor package
$119 for front rotors + 119 for rear rotors = $238

:p  :shhh: :D

theres issues with those rotors after a short while.
so be careful with them because they will rust quickly. Ive been setting up a group buy on AE rotors so theres a few diff things to them. Pm me if you have any questions or want more info on the group buy.

I'm using exactly the ones you said. Brembo's crossdimpled/slotted rotors with Axxis Metal Master brake pads from Turboimports. The rotors comes zinc plated and I've had them a little over a year already and they don't really rust that much. I do notice that they are starting to rust a little bit though. Braking power doesn't seem to be as good as it did when I first had them on but the whole thing cost around only $200 and I really needed those brakes at that time so I'm not complaining.

I have to agree with the guy who said something about rust on the rotors. Some rotors are known to have rust issues on the hat/hub area or on the vents on the sides. I would always go with rotors that are zinc or cadmium coated.

Hawk pads are extremely dusty but has alot of grip.

I got my Raybestos Quietstops from Pep Boys.
