Was wondering if anybody has or has heard of anyone using these coilovers from ebay...Speed Performance I believe is the seller?

Coilovers

The reason I ask is because my car has 279k+ miles on it...and the back springs are terribly saggy, it looks like I'm putting massive load on the car when it is parked. I'd like to upgrade the suspension...but as a college kid I have a budget:notgood:. I have read about the eibach and tokico lowering springs, and how they tend to sag to the driver's side...and don't feel like trading sag for sag. So, do these look good or any other suggestions around the same price range, say, $600?

Car is a '95 GS-T btw...thanks!

Holy****! LOL, I think your car should be a legend along with mine. My 94 Talon DL has 236,000. Still running strong. Btw, I was looking at those too. If anyone has any reviews on them, please post!

I don't like them. Looks like there is no real way to adjust ride height other than with the preload perch adjustment. If you were to lower it you would get less shock travel. On most full body coilover kits they have a threaded shock that way you can lower it and still utilize all of the shock travel by not adjusting the preload to lower the vehicle. I'm not saying they won't do a good job but, this looks like the equivalent of ground control coilovers on KYB G-R2's. I don't even think the shocks are adjustable on these?

I think we need a new tab under the members tab.

1/4 Times
Dyno Sheets
ODOMETER PICS

I'm getting up there too with 212k miles.

Take a closer look. These are designed much like the other aluminum threaded-body coilover kits on the market. The shock is black, and the red anodized pieces are all mobile. Ride height is adjusted by moving the lower red portion up and down just like the K-sports, D2's, etc...

They are different in the fact that the actual shock is non-adjustable, unlike the other brands. And also, the others have 2.5" coil springs, and these have an OE style progressive diameter spring. And who knows what the internal quality of the shock looks like..... Though I do like the style of these, I would need further convincing of their quality before I bought them. Your choice though.

Ok now I see it, looks like the inside of the red housing must be threaded allowing the black threaded perch to raise up or down. Now if the shocks are any good and the springs are any good that would make for an interestingly cheap suspension setup.

GEEZ! They raised the price tremendously!

eBay Motors: Mitsubishi Eclipse DSM 2nd G 95-99 Coilover Suspension (item 180284841902 end time Sep-09-08 01:03:43 PDT)

It was only $369 plus $80 shipping.. now its $660 + $80.

They have them listed for $410 still as well: eBay Motors: Mitsubishi Eclipse 95-99 96 97 98 GS GST GSX Coilover (item 170257915759 end time Sep-09-08 08:54:59 PDT)

The more pricey of the 2 look like they have 16 way adjustable dampening, while the less expensive do not have any dampening features.

They do have a 1 year warranty.

Another inexpensive coilover option are these Yonaka coilover kits: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/ven...a-motorsports-coilover-kit-499-99-2g-dsm.html

I'm still waiting for someone to post a review about them or a little feedback at least. I don't believe they have any dampening features either but they do have a lifetime warranty. I'll be the guinea pig for these in a month or 2 :thumb:

I have a set from speed performance on my 92 civic. They are actually fairly decent. But i'm guessing the tokico struts i have help out alot. Good luck
You have a set of these coilovers that you're using in conjunction with Tokico struts? WTF
You sure about that?

I have been a huge fan of "ebay" coilover setups for awhile in many cars. A typical ebay kit gives you a spring, and a lower spring perch, better kits give you a fancy upper bearing, which technically would give a kit a "better" review than one that tried to use a stock one or a junk one.

I dont normally think the fancy 19 way adjustable shocks are quite worth the money (as I can hardly get ahold of a set for just 2 wheels for less than $450 for my fiero), but if you have the money, you can easily turn your "stock shock" coil over package into a "aftermarket shock" with coil over.

If the price is right, I say go for it.

i just ordered a set of the adjustable ones, i paid thursday and already recieved a tracking number with the package on route for weds. as soon as i get them, i'll get some pics and post up install stuff. unfortunately, my engine won't be done for about a month so i won't be able to give a road review until then

Sorry guys, I haven't been on in a while so I haven't posted obviously. I did install them, it went very smoothly. I will try to get some before, during and after pics within the next couple days. I still haven't road tested them being that the car is not moving right now.

Yeh idk i never knew anyone that had luck with ebay parts,The only good thing i know they sell are the $200 intercoolers cause there just as good as the greddy intercoolers i seen some pole they took like a month ago on the speed channel haha but who knows:rocks:

if thats the case you havn't been on here long enough.. ROFL

My experience with those, is the springs are too short for the rear. Meaning, I had to add tons of washers and a big bushing to keep the movement of the shock down. The problem with the front is the weight of the car gave me about an inch of clearance from the ground no matter how far i adjusted them.

These are name brand springs from meghan. They install just as quick and easy. Plus i noticed better handling, an amazing ride, and instead of a 4" dump i now have a sexy 2" on my 95awd talon.

Heres the link. Suspension
