wierd idle (not the usual)

When I am driving my car acts fine, i-VTEC comes in about 5700rpms like its supposed to, and I get boost like I'm supposed to. But when I come out of a hard pull, when I'm racing the local Honda's, my car wants to idle really wierd. IT goes to about 1800rpms and stays there for 12 seconds (counted multiple times) and then goes down to 400rpms and kills the car. What could be the problem

My first thought woudl be a sticky idle speed controller. Scan for codes to see if this comes up.

my car also does this, after running it hard, even just gettin on the freeway, then when i get to the next light it goes 1500rps down to like 450-500 and back up, over and over, but has not died yet any other help would be awsome
