I was checking this out tonight. Is it the same as an ACT 2100? It says 30% more holding power than stock and it's like $275. It also says it is for turbo dsm's.

and yes i have had bad times on ebay with that crap....black market fake stuff
and yes there is people that sell like slightly used stuff...but thats a if

Vendors had black market fake stuff? Slightly used stuff?

I don't want to assume, but maybe you should read those Ebay descriptions top to bottom. I'm sure if the vendors sold you something slightly used, and the auction said brand new, never used, you have a case for Ebay to handle.

As far as black market fake stuff, I don't believe it's considered truly FAKE if the description says for example: "Greddy Type S STYLE BOV" or "HKS STYLE grounding wires"

And check other car models when it comes down to dress up stuff, for instance; I looked at Ralliart Oil Caps and searched NISMO oil caps and found that the same vendor kept the same design, but just switched the stickers "Nismo" and "Ralliart"

Thought I'd add some helpful hints into my question of "What bad experiences did you have with Ebay?"

Well my experience with ebay is awesome, i bought a fake greddy type rs bov for 15 dollars and for some reason I got talked into buying a 200 dollar real one when the fake one worked great and the expensive one was faulty.

If you give ebay stuff crap, your not cool so quit un less you have a actual bad experience with it.

I bet someday there turbos will be well recommended.

Yea I'm for sure going to order a ebay clutch. LOL Im on a tight budget but you should def update and tell us how it turned out.

I ran an xtd stage 4 clutch for well over a thousand miles till my car spun a bearing, when I took it out there was maybe one or two burn marks (brake cleaner got it off) and no need for a resurfacing. I say that is pretty good for all the hard launches I was doing.

I just installed a XTD stage 3 on my Prelude, I love it, my car shifts better than the exedy I had in there before. I love it so much that I just bought a stage 3 for my 92 TSi. Also Ebay is a company that has vendors, the vendors are responsible for the products not eaby, you can find ACT and all the other name brands on there too. Do your research before buying from just anyone. what I am trying to say is don't bash ebay bash the bad vendors. I have used ebay for the last 4 years with over 280 transactions and only had about 2 problems. Just my 2 cents:cool:

I love ebay. Even though I bought what was described to be a ACT 2600 pressure plate, showed up and was infact a ACT 2100 Pressure Plate, I feel its a great place to find good deals.

I am a DIYer from way back, I started by building a Dodge 318 on the tailgate of a Chevy S10 that ran 10,000 miles in a 1973 Dodge Dart till I sold it still running, with just a 189 piece craftsman tool set and a 50-250 torque wrench.

I personally bought a ACT 2600 when I was on the market for a clutch because I wanted the durability and peace of mind knowing it has the welded in reinforcement plate, extreme dual springs and WILL HOLD 420 ft lbs.

Let your research increase your confidence in saving money...no one gives money away for free let me tell you :thumb:

Went ahead and ordered the stage 2 and their flywheel. Around 1/2 the price of pretty much anything else out there. Guy already emailed me saying it will be shipped out and such, so seems good so far. Just running 14b so if it holds together for that ill be happy.

Got everything in, seems to be running good. Only odd thing is that the cluth petal doesnt have anymore resistance than before, and i even changed out the master cylinder and clutch line. Guess the pressure plate isnt the best on these. Oh well as long as it holds my 14b ill be happy.

I just put one in a few weeks ago, put 750 miles on it and took it to the track this past wednesday. I'll just say for daily driving, if you don't slip it enough, the car will vibrate because it is a 6 puck, not a street disc.

I have basically a 1990 stock fwd laser and the 6 puck could really take the slipping that I did in first gear. I am having some engagement problems however [I missed second gear twice in a row] and I'm hoping it's my clutch master cylinder because I didn't shim the pivot ball. My clutch pedal doesn't go all the way up, or all the way too the floor. I could adjust it so it's all the way up, but it'll stop 1" off of the floor, so maybe my master cylinder could be bad?? because I just changed the slave cylinder and bled the system ALOT. and there was very very little fluid on the master cylinder from inside the car, but I'm still kind of lost since I rebuilt the thing a little over a year ago..

cooldude919, can you link to the exact one you got?

I read some older posts about the ebay flywheel for the 2gs and someone mentioned them being way off and not fitting right ors omething of that nature.

Please give a follow up review after a few miles.

Fortunately you get what you pay for. This at least leaves enough margin for guys who sell quality stuff to make a living. I've seen and installed a number of ebay clutch kits. They will frequently include a good pressure plate with a chinese disc and call the entire kit an excedy or ACT when that only describes the pressure plate.

As far as ACT I have seen a lot of engines with worn out thrust bearings because of the extreme loads from their pressure plates.

I did get the flywheel also, and that reminds me i did have to shim the starter a bit. With the new flywheel it would randomly not start, the starter would click but wouldnt do anything. I found if i loosened the flywheel bolts then i could start it. So i just stuck a washer in between the engine and the starter near the rear bolt and now everything is fine. Only thing im worried about it we forgot to put locktight on the flywheel bolts, so im just hoping they dont back out. So far everything is good, only thing i noticed is it just takes a little more gas to get going, but thats to be expected with the lighter flywheel. Im trying to go easy on it, so i cant comment how it holds up otherwise yet. Heres the link to the auctions i bought from.

Let me know if you have any other questions

There has been nothin but good reviews on them, so really, you dont have nothing to worry about. Dont let anyone give you the "oh its ebay so its crap"

Oh, I don't listen to people that say items you get off ebay are crap, if it's a brand name product that is widely trusted and well known than I could care less :)

kinda like the old saying... ppl never forget when your wrong, but never remember when your right, same concept with parts everyone complains when shit breaks but never prasie when its good
