You really only have the word of the seller combined with the feedback to give you that info. Look at people who have bought similar items from the seller and see what they said. Buying locally has the advantage of you having someone to hollar at if you get a sub par piece.

you get hwta you pay for, and remember its ebay .....

to be honest...i have never had a good exp. with ebay.

Ebay+Cars= no no

I just recently bought a carbon fiber hood off of ebay. Thought it was a great deal until it showed up at my door. It was in great shape (made by vis racing too, a reputable brand) then I tried bolting on my car. It was about 6 inches too small (made for a different car). I called them and they basically told me to go screw myself. Now Im filing a small claims case in Maryland to try to get my money back. Ebay buyers beware. Make sure before you bid that the seller also has a LEGIT WEBSITE WITH A REAL ADDRESS. If I were you I would just buy from a well known DSM website. But I have a biased opinion since I just got ripped off =(

a good quality low price kit would be aftermarketkits.com, they are so low because they don't have to go threw so many middlemen and all that price raising junk... try em out, they have all 3 of the complete 1g kits.

I ordered the full drift kit two years ago!!!!! Guess what never came?! Yeah.. The package.
It took 2 years to get the money back from the filthy low life that scammed me for over $600.00!! Fluck ebay and fluck bodykits.

really this guy wants to find a body kit, so why not tell him where you got your body kit, and the expierence you had with the place and fitment of the kit, that way he can make a good decision on where to order.

Cause that is kinda against the rules for this Board.

2. No complaints, accusations or attacks on shops, other websites, or buyers/sellers in the Classifieds. We are not the DSM Better Business Bureau, nor do we have the resources to be the DSM Better Business Bureau. We have a strict policy against "shop bashing". This means, we don't allow complaints and accusations to be made toward shops who have displayed weak customer service "in your opinion". If you want to help others choose a good shop to take their car to, then list the shop you'd recommend in your member profile. This is the only feedback we'll allow here on our site. Negative feedback tends to attract fraudulent accusations, flamewars and rumors which can put undeserving shops out of business. Since we don't allow negative feedback, we'll also ask that you not hype up any shop either. Post your recommended shop in your profile and others will be able to quickly learn who the best shops and vendors are. We also recommend using a new resource which was created by a site member, called Vendors-Reviewed.com to help rate and review vendors.

Based on my experience it is somewhat of a crap shoot. The bodyshop I went to also stated this, they wouldn't recommend a manufacturer for this very reason. I was lucky and they were able to work with the bumper I bought. The skirts I got on the web had to be trashed so I drove to a shop in Houston to buy replacements in person so I could see them before clunking down my money.

you see that is why i love this website so much... because everyone is a bunch of assholes.. look some people like the way body kits look.. especially when the original one on the car i just got is all f'ed up... i found that it is cheaper and easier to get an aftermarket kit instead of trying to find another oem kit... besides i hate the rear bumper on the eclipse.. so if youre not going to help me and if you have such a hatred for ebay then just dont answer.. i have bought alot of things from alot of people on ebay and i have only had one bad experience and that is when a friend of mine tried to buy a tank for his paintball gun using my account.. i know what to look for and i know who to buy from on ebay all i wanted to know is if anyone had bought their kit from ebay and if it looked like an okay kit.. this is why i left this forum in the first place... its so strange all the other forums for the other cars i own dont have people with attitudes like dsmtuners

thank you to those people who actually posted legitamite answers to my question i will check out that website thanks icedragon..

Dude, no one was really being an asshole, you asked about the quality of the ebay kits and you got your answer. Icedragon gave you a site to check out and no one that posted said anything about the way body kits looked on the car. I have a kit myself and could have saved money if I hadn't gone to ebay and got sub-standard parts. I will send you a pm of where I got my skirts in Houston, they use the real vehicle to make the mold and do all the work in house. Board rules limit this sort of thread and usually get closed.

I don't see why it would be so bad to tell people where you got your bodykit from rather than bash the dude for not staying stock like some people have been... and yes, he asked for where to get a quality bodykit, and alot of people that i read earlier today (not sure if they still there or maybe a moderator got rid of the useless ones) have said leave it stock... thats just kinda ignorant... its not giving him advice at all... anyways the sites I look at for stuff dude are Aftermarketkits.com and AndysAutoSport.com are the two I look at.... I lean towards aftermarketkits.com because they are indeed cheaper, but for hoods I look at Andys because they have some hoods for the 1g's I myself haven't seen too much of and their hoods are cheap for how much I see them go for in actual stores around here. I just hope I helped you man, sorry about everyone here bashin you for not staying stock, but I am like you man, I like bodykits and making a car your own. I am customizing alotta stuff on my car and I like to make it look different than everyone elses, so I am going with a bodykit too. I been bashed by friends and stuff, but I was bashed by them about ordering tails too and than they saw them, gave me a compliment, and shut up. Some even want my type tails for their cars and I am like... sorry, but no help from me dude, you didn't give me any.

i buy many things from ebay and i never got ripped off. ive had a few sellers that didnt want to sell at the end of the auction but no 1 ever took my money and ran. ive got 2 cars and many car parts from ebay. all m y stuff was good.

yeah thanks again ice... there isnt much you can do to our non turbos than make them look good.. besides an engine transplant... i used to have the 92 talon in my avitar... but that car is long gone and i just picked up a free 92 eclipse gs... so i am trying to make it look nice...

and my95tsi i have been here for a while check my member since date... i just got sick of the crap last time i left... thought maybe it would be different now.... but i was wrong... dsm owners are very arrogant... i know i have owned 2... and i know some who think dsms are the god of all cars.. but they arent.. they are good dont get me wrong.. but i think there are better cars.

well your smart..... OMG

list of better cars than dsm's:

toyota supra
mazda rx7
nissan skyline
any Porshe above a boxster
corvette z06
blah, blah, blah

yeah arrogance sucks!

yeah rx7s are a good car.. i own one of those also.. and let me tell you the forums there are alot friendlier.. and those guys go way out of their way to help.. great bunch.

Trust me, what money you save on the kit you will pay the body shop x 10 to try and make it look right.

This is very true ^^^^. I bought mine off of eBay for dirt cheap ($500 for urethane), and it didnt fit very well. Rear fit good, front was OK, but sides were way off. I did have to pay my body shop double what if would have costed. After paying them $38/hr. for a week, they made it fit better than I ever thought kits could fit. I dont regret it though, it was a learning experience and not all of them are free. :dsm:
