Whats ## opinion on body kits on the 2g eclipses. I know most of you out there like to keep the stock outside look so dont flame me. But for me i kinda like a bodykit i think the blitz body kit is used to much on 2g eclipses but i wanted to get ## opinion on what you think of body kits give me some valid reasons.. Not just "I dont wanna be a ricer" ahha

thanks guys

Trivium,

slight modifications to the body are great when done right but body kits are a little over the top. i dont remember what movie this saying came off of but if you do something right people wont know you have done anything at all. i think it was bruce almighty

I'm with you on the body kit idea. It just has to be done and put on right. But like pwnzer said, i would only get something that would help for racing. Something that efficiently reduces overall drag. but as far as body kits go, that is last on my to do list for my gsx.

The only thing a 2GB Eclipse needs is a lip or nothing. Body kits are ricer I don't care how fast your car is or what body kit it is.

Call me a ricer i really don't care. Ching chong wow woo rice kong pow chicken

i agree the blitz kit is so very... hondah

i like the Bomex body kit (front and back, not the side skirts)

Sorry, I would photoshop it but I don't want my Computer to get infected.

I'm not a fan of body kits thats just me the only thing I would go for is a lip or something that will only help me with performance.

Instead of bashing you. Heres a little info I would suggest. If your looking for body kits make sure its build with polyurethane (PUR). Not the cheap stuff you'll regret it.
Kaminari is the only kit that I think of that is ok but, not for me like I said.

If its a 2gb body then a lip and a drop will look great. As far as body kits, I've only seen two that I like. One being the buddy club II, but the fitment sucks balls. I had to cut and refiberglass a ton to get it to fit right, and had to add on to under the headlight because there was a huge gap. And the other I like, and have only seen once just recently in a thread here, is the Veilside.

i can't find any that are polyuerothane.

Your right about it being better than a fiberglass kit, but most of those uerathane(sp?) kits are cheaply made and have bad fitment issues and unlike the fiberglass, you can't really cut it up and reform it as easy.

LOL good luck with that guarantee, I've seen the kits for mustangs and high end cars bolt right up using all the factory fastners and line up as good as factory. But alot of the "import" kits fit like ass. We had this altima kit and a 300zx kit that was suppose to be the perfect fit type deal that we had to twist and turn and tuck like no other. It was like spring loaded haha, if you undid it, it would jump off becuase it was all binded so much. The problem with forcing it on is when you take it off the paint doesn't flex as much as the bumper will and will in most cases crack the paint.

This is just a general question for everyone if you dont want to reply then dont.

What is your favorite body kit? (After Market)- IF YOU HAD TO PICK ON (Dont say factory)

Post your favorite body kits for the 2g eclipse with a pic and lets see what everyones taste is.

thanks trivium

HEHE I love this look overall :rocks: minus all the "extra" stickers that were not on the scene car

the Blitz is a classic look...although over done our car does look better than any honda in it. I hate the fitment of the bomex, dont like any body kit that makes our cars nose stick out flat far enough to pull up a bench and eat lunch on.

I do agree that as stock, the Eclipse is a gorgeous car. When I bought mine, it had i think Blitz side skirts on it, and the owner included the stock skirts.

I wanted to put them back on only to discover whoever put the Blitz ones on used tape/screws/pop rivets/and silicone glue (looked like tar) So it was a pain to get off. Only to discover there were neons tucked inside them and the grills that were on the vents rubbed the side of the car scratching the paint and denting the spots in.

The stock skirts wouldn't be able to go high enough to cover the damage so I grudgingly cleaned it up a n\bit and put them back on. I have gotten used to them and aren't too over the top. Just makes mine stand out among the other red 2g in town :D
