easiest way to get to hard water line??

i have to get to the oring end of the water pipe that runs behind the turbo and connects to the water pump, but i dont want to take the turbo off (again) and i definitely dont want to take the water pump off. anyone have any suggestions on the easiest way to get to it? it has blue RTV plus the rubber oring and is leaking like a sieve.

You could try and remove the P/S pump & mounting bracket and you might be able to get a blunt, 90* tool in there to further seat the o-ring (assuming that this is the problem)... I'm thinking of something like SNAP-ON's "Radiator Hose Removal Tool" & some MOPAR anirobic (?SP?) sealer ought to do it.

nope. someone fubar'd the install, and tried to quick fix it. the o ring is probably torn, bad install. you can get to the turbo water line with a 17mm flare end wrench. DO NOT use anything other than a flare end, or you will round off the fitting, then you WILL have to remove the turbo to get at it. if that line has never been off the car, it will be ON there. the first one i ever did, i had to use heat to break it loose. i would bite the bullet and pull the turbo, at least. which, in my car, means pulling the radiator, too. and, there is an outside chance that the casting for the water pump is fubar, or the end of the pipe that goes into the water pump could be rusted all to heck. be prepared.

i ended up dropping the turbo to get to that pipe, and when i reached underneath where it goes into the water pump, i pulled out a good 1/4" piece of the rubber oring. now that i have the pipe out, i can see where gobs of blue RTV was used along with the oring.
