stupid me locked my keys in my car. went to use the cig lighter in my car cause i forgot my lighter, left my keys on the seat, locked the door then closed it. :ohdamn:

what's the easiest way to "break in" i guess, without damaging anything? i've done it before but i want to know if anyone else found an easier way than using a coat hanger?

im just trying to avoid asking my boss to lend me his car to run back to my house and get the spare. i get off at 6am so please help! thanks.

Paying a locksmith is the easiest way LOL

But pry the window out a tad bit with a flathead/screwdriver and slide a coat hanger or a thin stick to hit the unlock button. But you might scrape your tint or break/mess up the alignment on the window if you force it too much. GL

i fear thats the only way then :/ this is maybe my 6th... 7th time doing this. damn ADD.

Roadside assitance with your insurance? 6 or 7 times would pay for itself. $50 here everytime out of pocet when I locked my keys in my 2000 Ford Ranger and 91 Olds Cutlass.

Price on added roadside could be like $50 every 6 months.

Pull the glass back on the window and you can get something in just enough to get something to unlock it.

2gs have a very fatal security flaw.

*edit* Damn, I was too late.

I lock my keys in my car several times a month. After doing this so often, I keep a key in my wallet. That way if I lock the keys in the car, I have it with me at all times. It is much less than roadside assistance or trying to do it yourself.

Same here. I keep the valet key tucked away in my wallet at all times. I've been lucky the few times it's happened to me because I tend to keep my keys and wallet together.

i have free roadside with my allstate plan but i live 2 miles from work i didn't want to go through the hassle of all the calls, waiting then finally getting home 2 hours after i get off.

Have someone drive you home or call folks, relatives pick u up. No brainner.

i borrowed my boss's car, drove home and got my spare.

im now now guys, thanks for the help!

since your question has been answered(pry the glass back and use a coathanger), i have another suggestion. get one of those magnetic boxes you can pop a spare key in and put it under the trunk. those are real handy, im sure they still sell them somewhere

This is some really good advice that I've been using for years. Just have a spare flat key made and keep it in there. This strategy saved me 2-3 times just this month!! Once I even left the car running.
Also, My last dsm would randomly lock the doors when I shut them.

Pay a locksmith. We should not have a thread on how to break into cars. There is no way to actually prove that you own said car that your trying to get into, sorry for being harsh but I dont want to potentially aid a theft.

Also, get a spare key made.

I just did this and didnt have a coat hanger. I unscrewed the antenna and had it open in under 5 minutes.

Everyone has missed the obvious easy route -

Pull the window back just barely and fit a hanger in there with a looped end about the size of a quarter. Navigate (you'll need talent) the loop onto the rear hatch release - tug - open the hatch.

If a cop is hassling you he can just run your plate. Or once your in you can grab your registration.

Have broken in to many friend's car's with a coat hanger and patience.

Been there, done that. You wanna know what the worst part about it was? I left my car on. LOL Coat hanger was the easiest way for me.

Duct tape a spare to the back side of your plate. I never have my spare when I need it. But my car is always there when I'm locked out ;)

Also if a cop bothers you, be polite and he may render assistance. Don't run, they hate that. Don't make quick movements as they hate that too. And for god sakes keep your hands where they can see them. You going for an ID in a back pocket looks exactly like going for a loaded gun in your back pocket. Just a few tips from your friendly ex-hooligan.

I once locked myself out, my car was running, and my window was down abit but not enough to get my arm in, so i took off my windsheild wiper and flicked the lock over, haha.

Take a medal coat hanger and bend it straight, make one end a hook then slide it in between the glass and the rubber from east to west grab the door handle and tug it will open the door :D i have locked my self out a few times and now have a spare :thumb:
