Easiest way to drain gas tank?

I want to pull out my fuel sending unit, but I need to drain the gas tank first, what's the quickest and easiest way to do this?

This is for a 1G fwd n/t. I read there is a drain plug to let the fuel out, but is that only for the awd models? because I couldn't find it on mine.

Yeah thats where I did it is back under the tank I don't think 2g's have a drain plug and I didn't like the idea of a slow syphon pump. Sorry to hear about your misshap. How much damage?

It needs an engine harness and a new carbon hood, front lights melted, bumper cover melted a little. I was lucky

My 93 has one on the drivers side of the tank.
i can check the 94 to. but im sure it does as-well. There both fwd.

The drain plug he's referring to that was done away with after 91 is a plug that is in the center bottom rear of the tank and secures the pump hanger to the floor of the tank with a special o-ring bolt. After 91 they didn't use that design anymore. Yes, zombie bump who cares. I'm looking for a hanger that fits the above description and have a classifieds wtb ad open for it right now. It's not a common part and most people aren't familiar with this thing even existing because it was only for 2 years on the early cars. We can refer to it as the bastard 1g fuel tank.
