Eagle One Etching Mag Wheel Cleaner

Anyone ever use this stuff for cleaning various parts such as oil filter housing, front case, tranny case, valve cover, etc.?

It's supposedly harsh stuff (3 types of acid)... but my parts need harsh

And while we're at it... will it (or anything else) dissolve burnt on left-over gasket?

I'd try simple green on most stuff. It won't hurt your parts either. Though if you do try the eagle one, post back you results.

Purple power is good to use to it won't hurt most parts.

Have a shop tank your parts. Scrape as much gasket as you can, do not destroy the mating surface.

Defiant... Do you know what solvent the shops use for tanking aluminum?

Just curious. I wasn't really looking at the Eagle acid stuff for removing gasket crap... mostly just for putting a deep clean/shine on parts after Simple Green, brake cleaner, and elbow grease has run it's course.

I may try it on an old VC I have to see what it does.

I've had good luck using paint remover to clean parts. The stuff in a can. I usually use this stuff called Aircraft Remover. It gets everything brake cleaner, engine degreaser, and wire brushes don't.
