E85 afr at cruise and idle with dsmlink....should be around 9.85 right?

I just got a built 94 GSX that I was told needs tuned - I've been doing some reading on the ecmlink wiki and if I'm understanding things right, I should be seeing an AFR of 9.8 - but I'm seeing 14 - 15 at cruise and idle. Way too high for E85 right? Or is the 9.85 figure some base figure that you'd see under other conditions?

I have a ton of reading and learning to do but just wanted to confirm this. I've parked the car until I can get things understood and straightened out.

1 Lambda is always one lambada. Gas and E85 AFR are just different conversions based on burn rate and other factors. Your Wideband is more than likely configured to a Gasoline scale where 14.7:1 is stoich (1 Lambada). Below are some conversions from gas scale to E85 so 14 to 15 puts you around stoich (1 lambada).

Ahh, ok that makes sense. Thank you!

So the figures labeled "Idle" - is that what we should shoot for at idle? (The list doesn't look specific to DSM's) Do these figures vary for different types of engines?

I ask about idle because I get a little white smoke that doesn't smell like oil or antifreeze and the seller said it's running lean. (He didn't know how to use Link either)

Like I said I know I have a lot to learn - and I don't expect to be spoon fed everything. Just want to learn as much as I can asap. Thanks again.

Those labels have been removed from the above list to avoid any confusion.

You want the car at 1 lambda for idle.

The figures never change as far as the Air to fuel ratios. No mater what engine you put the fuel into, the fuel will always burn stoich at the given ratio of Air to Fuel.

For tuning advice, use the tuning and engine management forums. Do your reading first, start tuning what you can at idle and post up a log. Be sure to accurately fill out the provided template when requesting log file advice, without it you will not receive any help.
