I am to sure where dyno posts go, and I am not allowed to post these in the fp 18g thread so I guess I will post them here and have the mods take care of the placement.

Engine: Bone Stock 4g63, stock Cams, Stock IM, Stock T/B

Mods: GT Manifold, fp 18g turbo, internal w/g, 3" exhaust no cat, 2.5" charge pipes, 750cc injectors, Walbro 190HP fuel pump, stock fuel lines, Stock ignition on 6 heat range plugs, and a 3" GM MAF.

Tuning with a MAF-T @ 14.5psi on pumpgas.

We got it up to 300 hp, but it was knocking quite a bit. Definitely will invest in a water/meth kit, BKR7E's, and DSM Link, I just wanted to see how well this MAFT will tune along with this fp 18g.

The car was tuned by a great guy named Chad at shop in Kansas City, Missouri called Modified by KC Imports.

What are your guy's inputs?

Thanks

Oh, also I should of said that the MAF-T is a gen-II, and that we used the TMO datalogger to help us out on the dyno.

Wow nice man, im running 14psi on mine now and sure feels fast, not 290hp fast but fast.

I dont see a FMIC on your setup. If not that is your issue with higher boost. Get a FMIC or a meth/injection kit, both would work nice. Very impressive numbers at low boost on that turbo.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. A Fmic would really help. I'm going to dyno my car after I get my fmic on, and hookup my wideband, and greddy e-man.

injectors are way too big for just a maft. with the low air flow the ecu is turning the timing way up

Im surprised no one has challenged these numbers yet, these are extremely impressive with his mods on 14.5psi. Extremely impressive!!!!!

Isn't Walbro 190 and 750cc enough for 14.5 psi on the TDO6sl2 18g ??

A wally 190 with a rewire pushing 58 psi of fuel (43.5 + 14.5) will max flow is 158.6 ltr/hr (660 cc injectors @ 80% duty cycle). Give or take 10% of course on average. By upping to 16.5 psi, the wally max flow is 151.6 ltr/hr (630 cc/min injectors). And the higher the boost pressure the less it can flow. 18.5 psi of boost = 144.6 ltr/hr (600 cc/min injectors). And these are max flow rates that pump can deliver mind you, not is actually flowing into the injectors after the 8+ feet of hoses and filters prior to reaching the injectors (i.e. pressure drop at the end which requires higher pressure on the injector side).

Throwing those values into RC Engineerings's calculator here:
RC Fuel Injection

58 psi @ 0.60 BSFC = 335 hp
58 psi @ 0.65 BSFC = 309 hp

60 psi @ 0.60 BSFC = 320 hp
60 psi @ 0.65 BSFC = 296 hp

62 psi @ 0.60 BSFC = 306 hp
62 psi @ 0.65 BSFC = 282 hp

This should give you range of what the maximum Crank horse power could be expected at these fuel pressure levels are. With this knowledge I suspect he was getting knock at 16 psi (or value set to reach 300 hp) because he was running lean due to the fuel pump hitting its max output.

Also I wouldn't recommend upping the boost past your 14.5 boost level till you get a higher flowing pump. If you plan on running higher than 20 psi of boost, I would recommend a wally 255 HP (high pressure) fuel pump in my opinion. As with the same setup, the wally 255 HP would flow these numbers:

58 psi @ 0.60 BSFC = 513 hp
58 psi @ 0.65 BSFC = 474 hp

60 psi @ 0.60 BSFC = 507 hp
60 psi @ 0.65 BSFC = 468 hp

62 psi @ 0.60 BSFC = 501 hp
62 psi @ 0.65 BSFC = 462 hp

65 psi @ 0.60 BSFC = 492 hp
65 psi @ 0.65 BSFC = 454 hp

As you can see... quite a difference. The wally 255 HP just doesn't have the problems of flowing the large amounts of fuel at he higher pressures.

This is kinda what I was thinking. I just got dyno'ed with a 20g at 16lbs and only hit 285hp 281 ft/lbs on pump. I'm running the 550's with the 190 pump and I'm out of fuel. Something doesn't seem right about this guys #'s.

His numbers are right. Your out of fuel at 16 psi because the 190 cannot keep up anymore. At 16 psi + 43.5 = 59.5 - 60 psi fuel pressure.

Thats about 320 - 296 Crank HP max output from the pump. Give or take. Account for transmission loss and what not and you get 285 hp.

Definitly pretty high numbers for a pump gas tune on 14 psi without cams or a fmic.
His timing mustve been way up. What dyno was this done on?

Id expect these numbers from more like 18-19 psi on his current setup.
But thats just me talking, im not knocking anything, good job none the less !

I think your math is wrong or something, because most people are good with a 190 up to 400hp.
