So I've made a thread a few weeks ago about picking up a 91 talon tsi awd and I still am, the guy had to have emergency kidney surgery so meeting up with him has been delayed a bit.
But in the meantime I've been pulling my old 90 gst parts out and getting everything that is in better condition ready to swap over. So I finally decided to try to break lose the bolts holding the 02 to the turbo hot side which has over 200k miles of heat and rust on them, and to my success I was able to get it lose without breaking a bolt
.
The turbo that I have mounted to the 14b hot side is apparently a old fp 18g from what JusMX141 clarified a while back. The turbo exducer that was on the 18g was way to large to fit into the 14b hot side so I just swapped it out for the 14b one while keeping the 18g inducer wheel.
So a few questions that I have, would I be able to port the 14b hot side enough to hold the 18g exducer wheel? And also where can I get a rebuild kit for a old fp 18g? The cold side housing looks exactly like the 14b so the wastegate bolted on with no problems, but the oil lines are different so how can I go about getting oil lines to work with it?
