Dumbest things you've heard a DSMer say? :)

Don't you mean the other way around? A 2g is much more like a 3S.

Its kind of a matter of perception I guess. But I think the 1g is closer, they are both sort of 'wedge' cars, and the 1g has a squarer ass end like a 3kgt does. Atleast I think so anyway.

Wasn't a dsmer but a muscle car guy, once said to me, cars don't actually draw or suck in air, after the exhaust expells, atmospheric pressure forces air back into the motor (his theory is the same as that of when you walk into a room some of the air in the room is forced out from your mass) he insists engines work the same way...

Right... and the intake stroke is just there for good measure.... Going with this guys theory we'd all be running 2 strokes!

He is somewhat right in a way, as the pressure in the cylinder is usually less than what the normal atmospheric pressure is,so as the cylinder drops it is easier for the higher pressure air to move into the cylinder. But his argument was that even in a turbo application, atmospheric pressure forces into the compressor generating more air that gets boosted into the motor.

Bad move
Bad move. The AWD drivetrain is a complicated system and troublesome. There are very few of these Eagles on the road and few parts available. . What I have learned is that you want to go with a common car if it is over ten years old. These rare cars are very expensive to fix which may happen often on older cars. Look for something that is popular, has lots of parts available and the mechanics know well. Stay away from European cars with their expensive repairs and the found on road dead/fix often repair daily Fords.

Some examples I would focus on from the mid 1990s are Honda Accord/Civic, Toyota Corolla/Camry, Dodge Caravan or any Saturn. These cars were all very popular, easy to fix and seem to last a long time.

1995 Eagle Talon TSI AWD a good car?
Have any of you owned this type of car? I am looking for a good, fuel efficient, cheap car and a lady I know wants $2,400 for this car. It needs the a/c fixed, two new tires up front, but otherwise after test driving it it runs good. I offered her $1,200 for it. Is this a good car to own? She has replaced the transmission and has taken good care of it. It single starts and rides well for it's age.

Your experiences with this type of car?
I just need a car that can get me from a to b and then I will pass it on to my teenage daughter.

SORRY THIS SHOULD GO BEFORE MY LAST POST

hahahahaha! i don't think id want my teenage daughter driving an AWD DSM =/

Once again not a DSMer, but some guy behind the counter at a parts store.

I hand this guy a beat up piece of vacuum line and say "I want that. Same size and length."
He notices it has zip tie marks so he asks if I was using it for boost.
Excited that I might get to talk to someone with half a brain, I explained what it was for: My AFPR.
The dude looks at me with a weird look and says "What the hell do you need that for?!".
I replied "Well I have a rewired Walbro 255 and plan to run nearly 30psi. The stock regulator wouldn't like that very much"
The dude snaps back "I have a Walbro on my Honda and I'm still running the stock regulator on 5psi. I've never had any problems. I've never even heard of a adjustable fuel whatever so you must not need it."
:ohdamn:

Of course, leave it to the Honda guy to talk down something he doesn't even know about. And since he has never heard about it, it must be pointless.

And 5 psi on a fuel injected engine? Okay.

I think he meant 5psi of boost. But still nothing to pat himself on the back about. Even if I took out the wastegate flapper my 16g would creep higher than what he's running. ROFL

today a kid tried to pass me and i got on it and he heard i spool and i pulled hard on the kid. at the light he gets next to me and goes. Oh Sh*t dat thing got a turbo!? and I'm like yea why and he's like I'm sorry i tried to pass you...haha kids these days

hahah respect for the turbo, i like it. what was this kid driving? :tease: integra?

honda hatch with a "v-tech head swap bro" what he said to me..didnt help him at all still ROFL

I still don't understand why you had to pull on him. That makes you the same as him. ;)

When some idiot kid revs on me at a light or takes off hard... I just laugh. I know what my car can and can't do, and have nothing to prove to some punk teenager.

Besides... opening the exhaust cutout and free-revving in neutral usually mellows them right the hell out. LOL

had to have a little fun on the hour and half drive

Didn't you just get damage to your car from doing pretty much the same thing with an audi? Doesn't seem like a good idea.

When people go to pass me I just let them go. It's not worth it to me to damage my car or have a cop go by and think your steet racing. I'll agree it is hard to let them go sometimes but I get over it.

yupp this was earlier, the audi was in the morning the next day. its hard being 18 to let some kid that thinks their cars faster but i must say most of the time i do let them just go, its just this bad couple of days for me

Yeah. I like letting them go then just follow at the same speed just a little bit back and use the other car as a sort of rolling cop warning.

As far as dumb things people have said I've had a couple people ask me where my turbo button is.

Wow just wow. I'm actually kinda pissed. I went up to the local farmers market a little bit ago to get some Yuengling Bock Beer. On the way back its stop and go traffic, and this douche in a suburban on 22's honks at me while were at the light. I turn my music down and look beside me, he is standing out through his sunroof and yells "You know no matter what you do to that it'll always be JUST a Chrysler!"
At that point the light was green and I was just like "ookay.." and I took off. Guess he doesn't know about the Mitsubishi engine under the hood.

I know the feeling. I had a kid tell me that my car was just a fancy Laser. I replied, wtf is wrong with a Laser?. Apparently the Laser is seen as some cheap car.

But don't worry, apparently my Spyder GS has a 420a. And when I say 4g64, I'm corrected by some moron who says "Don't you mean 4g63?"
