it's wasn't a thread or even a conversation I had but a magazine I read. I think it was either super street or import tuner. All in all the guy had an audi tt that he loved and had a friend he said knew how to work on cars, hondas was his choice of car, but honda guy gave audi guy a idea to polish the valves. It was to throw sand down the throttle body and from there it would go through the intake valves, polishing them as they went threw and out the exhaust doing the same thing. he mailed the question in asking what could have gone wrong with motor being that it wouldn't start after he did that. Needless to say the tech responded with a big "i"m not even gonna touch that".

Another gem from my step-dad. So my brother's four wheel drive in his S10 isn't working. And the way 80's model S10s actuate the 4wd is there is a rod to a vacuum diaphragm, and the diaphragm either cuts air flow or sucks to actuate the t-case. Well my brother told my step-dad:

Bro: "My 4wd doesn't work."
Step-dad: "It must have a blown fuse."
My uncle who owned the truck since new when my step dad bought it in '08: "There's no fuse it has a vacuum diaphragm to actuate the t-case"
Step-dad: "Are you sure?"

Any weight reduction will increase power to the wheels. The total weight of the car makes the drivetrain loss.. Removeing weight would reduce drivetrain loss which would indeed make more power to the wheels.

Wow, I know exactly how the OP of that thread felt. I was exactly like him when I first got my car. I was completely clueless. Anyway here's some things I've heard, not by DSM'ers, but by other "car enthusiasts":

1. 1 psi = 10 hp regardless of turbo and the setup (this guy supposebly overhauled an engine before )

2. Taking the cat off and putting a test pipe adds like 30 hp. Ok

3. I felt a huge difference when I put that k&n filter in.

4. Aren't the talons a bootleg version of the eclipse?

5. Do an awd burnout! (on a 195 hp car)
