ROFL

My dad cant get the three letters in "DSM" in the right order. One day i was on tuners, and my dad comes up and goes "what are you doing?"
I say "posting on DSMtuners"
and my dad goes "you and DMS's! DMS, DSM, PMS!"
i say "dad that would have been funny if you got your acronym right." to which he walks away.

LOL That gave me a good laugh! Kind of sounds like my Dad. :)

The other day I was changing the water pump on my car, and one of my neighbors walks up to me and asks me what I'm doing. As to which I say, "I'm changing the water pump." He says, "You should trade your car for a '98 GS-T. That was the only year that came with twin turbos." I looked at him like

LOL yeah, When I'm out working on my car, I usually have to tell him to stick to his Chevelle, cause this "new" stuff is too complex for him. He doesn't believe that my "little 4-banger" will smoke him when I get it back together and running.

This quote comes from my very good friend, hes the reason I have my spyder today. Anyways I get on facebook and see this comment and a picture on his profile.. "*Traded my GSX for this*"
Im pretty sad about this..

Speaking of shit my dad says...

When I got my ACT 2600 I was telling my step-dad about it and how much it costs and what kinda power it can handle.
He then says "That little rubber band toy couldn't make that kind of power"
I took him for a ride a couple days later and that changed his mind fast. I wonder what he would think of my friend with a GSX running a Precision 6765 pushing 500+ WHP...

From one of my good friends that I haven't seen in 2 months. Was at a party and he shows up. First thing he says,

I'm getting a SRT-4!
Me-Those are pretty cool, how much?
Him-$2500
Me-Does it run?
Him-Yeah it's a 10 sec car
Me-Wow!!!!!!!! what kind of upgrades?
Him-It has a 60 trim, manifold, external dump WG, steering wheel, short shifter, big ass FMIC.
Me-Any fuel upgrades? What kind of boost is this car running?
Him-No, 30psi of boost. LOL
Me-Wow Dodge really went all out on the fuel pump and injectors. What is he using to tune this 10 sec car on 30 pounds on stock fuel setup.
Him-It's pretty much stock besides what I told you. The kid I'm getting it from is a amateur race car driver and he's also mechanic. So he know what he's doing.
Me-Good for you. Do you know how much power it's making with that awesome setup?
Him-600hp to the wheels. Man can't wait to get it, I'm going to smoke your Talon!
Me-Yeah, I can't wait neither.

My friend is 19 and his friend with the SRT is 17.

If that Civic doesn't have a K swap I'd be disowning him as a friend REAL quick.

That is a bandwagon comment if I have ever seen one.

I don't see anything wrong with going the Honda route as I own one along with several DSM's.

The good for Hondas:
1. Parts are cheap and plentiful (even to make "fast")
2. Engines are very durable and reliable
3. Car is very easy to work on
4. Fuel management is a blessing (compared to other platforms)
5. Fuel mileage is great (even with turbo cars)

The bad:
1. Owners give them a bad rep a lot of the time
2. They are easily stolen
3. They are a dime a dozen so you are probably not going to be the only one in town with Rota's.
4. I feel as though the Honda community is more disjoint than the DSM crowd

I know there is a bunch of Honda hating on this forum (much of it is probably deserved) but I think that everyone should keep an open mind and do some research.

Back on topic though: Was asked to look at a DSM where a guy could not start the car up after spending over a month putting the head on (2g car).

- he thought there was something wrong with the wiring because the fuel pump did not prime when you had the key engaged (not starting but at ACC). He hacked the wiring up and ran a wire to the battery (no fuse of course).

- At TDC there was one cam dowel pin facing up and the other one down. He said he did the timing according to the book. I didn't even want to look at the tensioner.

He said its just a sohc non vtec.. I would at least be happier if it was boosted or VTAAAAAC! I dont really mind hondas. Its mostly the ingnorant drivers that anger me. I drove my buddys honda when my spyder was down and really considered buying one due to the AMAZING fuel milage!

On another note, that Srt-4 story was pretty funny.. Made me giggle! haha

I don't know whats wrong with my life, but every time I hear some dumb or even read stuff of this website it happens to me. I never really had a lot of experiences where people said really dumb things until I started to read these kinds of threads. ROFL For instance, I just came back from Advance Auto with someone cause he needed parts for his VW. We'll we drove his GST and when we left the store some kid was just standing outside mean mugging his car. So we walk up to the car and he says

Is that your EEEclipse (Spanish kid)
Friend-yes
Weird kid-I see it's a GST, how much boost are you running?
Friend-stock boost
Weird kid-so like 5
Friend-no, more like 10
Weird kid-I heard these cars are POS
Friend-your mom is a POS!LOL
Then we got in the car and left. Laughing all the way home. Kid just stood there, and took it.

Sarcasm doesn't carry well on the Internet.
I love Hondas and have owned several over the years (this is my first DSM). My last car was a 93 GS-R Integra that I was getting ready to boost till it was hit in a parking lot and written off.
I like Hondas, lots of good friends with some really nasty ones. I don't like all the owners though.

well here's something... it's not dumb in the sense that i say it without knowing something, it's just goofy, and i am JOKING when i say this.... whenever someone starts talking about getting new brakes or there's something wrong with their braking system... "Brakes? Who needs brakes? Just throw it in park whenever you want to stop" :) this was followed at one time when i was dating my ex, where he then said "Right, and then watch your transmission fall off of the car" i seriously almost wet myself i was laughing so hard :p

I would totally rock and ITR. Very Nice cars. However your average honda is too nerdy for me, or it is too riced out for me.

What I am sick is what I have made to be obvious above. I am beyond tired of people telling everyone to "do some research". So before anyone decides to hope for a certain engine, we must spend time doing proper research on every motor Honda-kids use for swaps. Then we must indulge into finding out their top-speed, quarter-miles times, ease of swap, etc...

That's just dumb and no one will do it. I see this all the time. We will research things we are INTERESTED in. So please, spare this forum.

dumbest thing i ever heard.. it was friday and i just got out of school, i had my hood open and was turning up my boost on my mbc, and some kid that claims his v6 dodge ram is an "SRT-10" comes up to me and says,

Why dont you swap the motor?
Why would i need to swap it?
to get more power.
dude, the 4g63 is the most powerful 4cyl. in the u.s.
oh. is it 4cyl.? i though it was a v6?
na. just a four banger. and it will smoke your truck too.
naa man, only turbo cars can kinda keep up with me.

when he said this my gf almost died laughing!! hahahahaha!!
