Wow man... I mean, there are some VERY decent Mustangs out there, for example Jimmy Lowry's Cobra is pretty insane. BUT that's when the kids with Mustangs that think that having a V8 means they can run 10s walk in, I can't tell you how many mustang owners I've just had to walk away from to not waste gas.

Possibly the funniest race against a Mustang was some kid with a GT, he had a completely stock engine, from what I told it has 160-170k on it, and a 125 shot of nitrous. He started talking and so on, I was going to ignore him until he made a comment about my unborn daughter at the time (my daughter is now 6 weeks old, the comment was something along the lines of "I hope that kid you're having isn't as slow as your car"). Thus I told the bi*** to race me, we went down to the track, lined up, he of course jumped but I caught up very quickly to him very quickly and then he suddenly disappears. Turns out that the engine couldn't take the nitrous shot and ended up scattered down the pavement. That right there is a text book example of a douche bag who got taught a lesson in humility.

He isn't the only one either man, I live in Jersey, this state is crawling with retards like that kid who will say about anything to get under your skin then make up excuses to why they got destroyed.

Wow kiddo, relax. This isn't supposed to be a flame fest, I just stated a little story about a douche bag around my area. Yes, I do have money for both my cars and my daughters diapers, my Talon was screwed about 3 weeks ago and still I got it up and running. I wasn't putting him down for having a "slow car" I just stated that HE should have known what his shit box could do and not talked down to anyone, specially about their family.

Anyone who gets upset over something like this is obviously taking shit too seriously. My wife knows for a fact that I love racing, if I die, then I die doing something I love. My Opinion : If you own a well maintained DSM.... then you have the right to brag and call it 'fast' compaired to most cars. In my short experience with these vehicles they can be a b**** to maintain. Those in the 'know' understand that when you hear "Yeah, I have a built DSM" that it translates into(95% of the time) "I worked my ass off on this thing and I know it's reliable. And I'm willing to do even more work to keep it that way"

When they hear "I have a fast honda"... it translates into " I bought a hatch, put a turbo kit on, and think it's fast"

o_o Owning a GST/GSX speaks for itself. A N/T is also a tempermental car, but still. I think we can all agree with this.

Both of my DSMs cost me easily $200 a month to keep in near perfect running condition (can't say perfect and we all know why), sometimes they're less bitchy and I don't have to spend a single dime on them for a few months... Yet again, we all know how often that happens.

Wait till Douchey McGee to have a real relationship and start a family and watch his attitude change. For me if someone talks crap about my car... i could care less. i know all the things wrong with it and what i have done to it. Most people that do see my car are usually impressed (unless they have a gst/gsx) i even get nods of approval in what i am doing/have done from 07 mustang guys and trans am guys. Not saying i stand a chance against them. i know better than to race them. But they don't know what i have or what i have done. it's the mystery of the not knowing that intrigues people.

Ty bro, I don't mind the changing diapers, the puking and having to spend more time with my daughter than my cars... Its the damn sleepless nights that bother me. My wife and I wake up at 7am to go to work, our daughter usually falls asleep at 11pm, wakes up at 2am then again at 5am... So you can just imagine what we go through.

My mom is helping us out while we are at work, which is a huge plus. Also I tend to grab a creeper and go under a car for a 10 min cat nap every once in a while, so can't complain there .

There's a pretty quick 420A eclipse up here, its running 8 pounds of boost(might be a bit more now) and supporting mods, pulls mid to high 13s. Not saying 13s are fast, I have a few friends with DSMs running in the 10s and one who is about to break into the 9s, BUT for a 420A eclipse on 8 pounds of boost, mid 13s is pretty good.

Ok, I can now say I've had my hand at witnessing Dumb DSM'ers.

He wasnt a dsm'er but he is a old friend, He comes up to me (knowing im into eclipses) And says YOOOO my friend has an eclipse and it got an EVO engine inside it. As soon as he said that, I tried to explain to him that the eclipse has the 4g63 engine in it stock. So when I said this, he was a bit speachless so I than decided to try and make him feel a little better by saying He probally put evo pistons and the 16g (basically trying to point out the differences) and he agreed with me allthough I can tell he was pretty lost.

HE THAN told me that it has a twin turbo.

I don't like making people feel dumb or anything so I tried to work with him a little but once he said twin turbo I gave up all hope.

As for me yes. This how it started when I first got my car I didnt even know how ot drive it yet so I was just practicing out in the street for a few days. Aight long story short. A honda civic Si came up to me and start revving his engine we were at a stop light (red) so i revved back and when the lights turns green he launch his and at that time i didnt know how to launch so I stalled right in the middle of the road.

haha but bad thing about it on that same day i got pulled over by a cop because he saw me driving suspiciously (i was just learning to drive stick). So he told me to turn off my car but at that time i didnt know how to turn off my turbo timer () cop: turn off your engine why is it still on.
Me: oh you have to wait a few minutes till the engine turns off because of my turbo timer.
cop: you need to turn off your car NOW!!
me: i cant i dont know how you just have to wait

A friend and I were making a junkyard run for our DSMs, when we come across these two guys on base model Eclipse. I ask if they know if there were any more DSMs, and suprisingly, he knows what I mean, and points out where the others were. Well, the Eclipse happened to have some parts my buddy needed, so while he dug into the interior, I chatted these two guys up, thinking he knows what he's talking about. Right until I mentioned what I have.

"So whatcha guys drive?" He asks.
"92 Eclipse GSX, and my buddy has a 92 Talon TSi and a 90 GSX Rally car." I reply. "All of them All Wheel drive."
"That's cool, I had a Talon I had up to about 600 hp." He boasts, and sets off my idiot radar.
"Really? Nice.." I say, but thinking alright, what bullshit is he gonna spout.
"Yeah man, it was fast as hell, I programmed it to send all the power to the back wheels. It's so fast, it picks the nose up like this!" and he tilts his hand. "It out runs my Chevelle at the track."
"Really? I didn't know you could do that." At this point my friend and I start to roll our eyes, figuring this guy is full of it.

"Yeah, you program the diff to send the power to the back tires and block off the front axles man. But We're here for his car." pointing to his friend. "I'm gonna build the Real motor. The 1.8." and nods. . That's the base model motor. it's already at it's bleeding edge of power.
