Dumbest things you've heard a DSMer say? :)

I was trading my 95 gst for a 97 talon tsi. I pop the hood..... So why is the blow off valve vented, doesn't it stall and run rich?..... No
Guy takes mine for a drive. , hey I think your blowoff is broken... I can't hear it.... I almost walked away from the trade right then

A stock fuel system can support any turbo....

Lolz, I had someone tell me that my stock 450's and fuel pump could handle my evo III 16g over 20psi. He wasn't a DSM guy but I was just polite and said, "well my injector duty cycle is alread above 80 percent so I don't think that would work..."

Yeah. Some people just don't get the fuel portion of it all...

When I was giving my uncle a run in my gsx, he says: "You're shifting is terrible" Before I could say anything he continued to Say "You don't time your shifting correctly, you'll lose a lot of time in a drag" Haha Im just, "Dude, this isn't Need for Speed"

I was shifting at about 6,000.. I don't like red lining my baby :)

A guy at local Autozone drives a white 2G Spyder. Looked on the front and seen a FMIC so start talking to him about it.

Me: Mind opening the hood?
Him: (gets in and pulls the trunk release lever) Crap! (pulls the hood release and opens the hood)
Me: So what all have you done to it?
Him: Nothing much, just a cold air intake and some Ebay BOV, and an Evo turbo.
Me: (looking at 4G63t with only obvious aftermarket parts being Greddy BOV and a dirty K&N filter) You should run a hose from the BOV to the intake (there was a cap on the intake where re-circulation hose would have gone) so you'r not loosing the air.
Him: Maybe later.
Me: Well, if you have any questions about your car, got to dsmtuners.com

Another parts store person once recommended JB Weld to seal up cracked cast exhaust header and i was dumb enough to try that. Next day i ordered a stainless header since the JB Weld not only not seal the crack, but started burning and filled the car with a terrible smell so it was barely drivable even with all windows open.

I swear people at parts stores... JB weld on exhaust manifolds? (nothing at you 91-GS, just saying parts people)

Walked into Napa and asked for a certain part number spark plug, so I wouldn't have to go through the whole year-make-model process. Well they still insisted and I wanted to get outta there so I told them. I confirmed 4 cylinder turbo and waddya know the dork says "how many you want"

Gee I don't know, 4? I'll bang out the repair and let you know if I find it's a Hemi or something and need more :)

That's kinda understandable, someone might have only one bad plug. Better question would have been something like "Do you want a set?" though.

Kind of like when I was ordering a headgasket. We went through the whole year, make, model, etc. In the end he was like "we've got three here for $40 each...so two would be $80 and some change". Amused, I responded with "I only need one.." and he instantly responded with "Oh, you're only doing one side?" I kind of paused a little bit trying not to laugh at him and said, gently, "It's a four cylinder...". After hearing that, he hung up on me. ROFL

Thats almost as bad as when guys post new threads asking what it would take to run a 42 sized turbo..... If you have to ask, then you prob shouldn't run it
