Richmond Hill,
Is it possible to have 2 intercoolers in your car, one that is mounted in the front, and another mounted behind the passenger side wheel and have them connected? This is on a 92 talon turbo.

Dejon tool made a kit but said it was only good for 16g turbos and smaller.

I choose a supra side mount, because it cools much better and flows much better than 2 stock side mounts.

i got the dejon tool dual sidemount i/c. its not too bad actually but if you plan on going with anything bigger than a 16g go with a true fmic.

yea, dejon tool makes a dual side mojnt set up, but its no substitute for an FMIC
the only real point in getting dual side mounts is so ur car will still look stock, i personaly would rather have a big ass intercooler on my car, people know its not stock when they hear my car, i know im not fooling anyone, i would rather have the better cooling of a fmic

Does anyone have any experience with the dejon tool street fmic, the one thats 2 stocker welded together? Im looking into that one, since you can keep your current intercooler pipes and its pretty cheap and easy to install compared to a real fmic. Does it drop the pressure too much? I have a big 16G so as long as it could get to 375-400 hp that would be a cool thing. Im just wondering if anyone has heard anything about it from people that have actually tried it on their car...

I think a dual side mount would be a waste of time. Probably be cheaper and better to get a front mount for a few reasons.

1. With dual side mounts, you will be making your intake system more restrictive(don't know if it would cause any signifigent restrictions, but every lil bit helps)

2. Piping would most likly be a PITA

3. It probably wouldn't cool it down as much as a good front mount.

Probably more cons to it than I listed. I say just go fron mount.

Yea I agree with hostile now. Ive done some research and the supra sidemount seems to be the best way to go. It can cool my big 16g even when its nearly maxed out, and its cheap. Sure it may take a while to install but it cools and flows great since its openings are 2.5 in compared to the stock or even dual sidemount size thats 2.25 or is it 2 inch? Either way im definetly goin supra! :)

Are you talking about the dejon tool dual sidemount welded into a frontmount? Or a real frontmount? I dont feel a real huge ~$1000~ fmic is needed with my 16g, a supra sidemount should do just fine for what i need, plus its a helluva lot cheaper. I just want to know what youre refering to, im still trying to make a final decision on what ic to go with...

I can get another sidemount intercooler for free and I was wondering about like a Duel intercooler setup, has anybody ever done this before, if so how did it work?

One of the most pointless mods you could to. Way to much custom fabbing and trouble for the result. Just get a Supra SMIC (will still flow more CFM than 2 stock IC's), or go all out and go FMIC.

Somebody tried on 1G to establish consistently the second stock intercooler? I want to try, since it's possible to me without money.
To idea should increase turbo lag, but how actually? I didn't look in the archive, it can already was discussed?
In any case, what ideas? will be sens?

your thread and question doesnt make sens as far as how good i can even read what u wrote or asked,

the more and bigger intercooler you have to push through will give a little more lag but might help to cool the temps down, go for it and let us no how it goes if your really interested in doing, but i dont think it will work good or be worth it.

One guy in our club has put to itself additional in front from Impreza. speaks, that lag it's nonsense. All works perfectly. But he didn't do gaugings of temperature, therefore I am interested also here.
We are not USA. Here is more difficult to buy anything you want.
It's necessary to search for alternative:
Instead of 1000 dollars such alteration will cost no more than 100. and the result can be almost same. Why to not make?

It has been done. You have to have the turbo outlet pipe split into 2 pipes, and have one go to each intercooler. Then, after it goes through each intercooler, you have them re-join together and go to the throttle body. You HAVE to run it like this, in parallel. If you try to run it in series, you'll get TONS of pressure drop.

Where it's better to place the second intercooler? Closer probably?
As far as the temperature after both intercoolers can decrease?
will be sens for my stock 14B? the guy in Moscow has 16g.

i think the double stock smic project isnt worth the time and hassle to make it work, probably will get more lag and not if any more cooling out of it, it will probably back fire if anything, i understand the low budget mechanic, i am too, id say trying getting a side mount intercooler from a supra and hooking that up, there over twice as big and can be mounted in the same location as ours, that setup is proven to be very good and just as good as some front mount kits, no one has ever really had any success trying to hook up 2 stock smic,

from what cars also the smic will be placed well in 1G bumper?
supra: in Kiev i'll not find it.
from subaru Impreza (the top intercooler) will become good?
Or it's too big?
what else? do you know it?

try to go for the supra smic, some one tell him what exact supra to get it from...... im not sure

the supra IC was dissapointing for me on race gas, but on pump I picked up 3 mph. Enough to feel it. Its off the twin turbo models, I dont know what years they are. There are vfaqs on how to install them.
