[RESOLVED] Why not two intercoolers?

I am assuming, since I've never heard of it, that using two intercoolers would be advantageous for a lower horsepower DSM. I am just wondering why not, if I am correct that it isn't worth it. I was just thinking about it because I have a conquest FMIC and the stock SMIC and I figured it'd be almost as easy to plum them moth in, in series, as it would be to get rid of the SMIC and just use the conquest one.

Most people do not run two intercoolers because of the pressure drop you would suffer from. In other words it would hurt airflow Also with the amount of piping it would take to plumb two intercoolers would hurt spool also.

Without even thinking about it a whole lot:

1) Added weight
2) Add complexity
3) More couplings, therefore more potential locations for boost leaks
4) Expense
5) Space
6) Increased pressure drop
7) Increased spool time

And perhaps most important, I don't know of any evidence to suggest that it will provide any benefit over an efficient single IC setup.

Excessive pressure drop makes it not the greatest idea.

Nice. I just wanted something solid. I was figuring it'd cause too much pressure drop. And the spool time.
