Richmond Hill,
Is it possible to have 2 intercoolers in your car, one that is mounted in the front, and another mounted behind the passenger side wheel and have them connected? This is on a 92 talon turbo.

Thanks alot guys! Have any of you flow tested them? Or how about when you installed them did you have to turn up your boost to correct the pressure drop? If so by how much just looking to see what happened? Thanks again
This will be one of the first mods to my new talon just picked her up today can't wait to let the modding begin!

GOTO Dejontool.com He has 3 sidemounts welded together along with all the piping for sale. Lot's of pictures. He did it right by doing a top to bottom flow, which reduces the pressure drop, since air flows through all 3 at the same time.

Are 3 DSM stock sidemounts welded together as good as an aftermarket single piece core? Assuming both are about the same size.

i tested the intercooler cranked the boost up i had it at 15-17 pounds on street it works awesome around 22 pounds so u kno it can go a long way...niknuk for ur ? it depends on wat kind of intercooler some cores maybe be thinner some thicker but talon side mounts are very thick putting 3 together u can just imagine the dense air ur gonna get

Holy run-on sentences, Batman! OMG

I can weld and planning on making my own ic pipes and putting together the intercooler myself, thats why I am not planning on using anything from dejon tool. Thanks alot though

what is going to have better flow with welding stock cores together; Top-Bottem or Side to Side flow? I see Dejon uses top to bottem flow but would it be ok to go with a side to side flow? That way you wouldnt have to make your own endtanks you could just weld bigger outlets into the stock endtanks and make your own tubing. I am really interested in this idea as I am taking college welding classes next semester and this could be a little project on the side. Where can you pick up aluminum tubing and aluminum sheet metal cheap?

dejon tool has a dual sidemount set up which puts a sidemount in each fender well. i think its only for 1gens and only if you don't have ABS. Other than that i've heard of people welding three chooped sidemounts to create a front mount. Its pretty cheap but i don't know what kind of flow you would get. i'm sure its equal to the $$ you pay :D

2 sep. smic's in 2 diff locations sounds like an awfull lot of plumbing to me.. i would think the drop off would be huge

You donh't need to worry about that. Few people have overheating problems with FMIC's unless they are really big or they had a cooling problem to begin with.

I have a 1997 eclipse gsx with just about all the goodies besides a new intercooler. One of my friends got a front mount intercooler off an old Saab. It's fairly decent sized and in excellent shape and since I got it for free I might as well use it. Its black and big enough to take up just about the whole opening in my front bumper .... not flashy though.

Now What I'm wondering is can I leave the stock 2g intercooler there and make a new pipe that will run from the bottom of the smic to the front mount, and then another pipe that will run from the front mount to the turbo?

Basically I want to take the pipe that connects the intercooler and the turbo and rerun it and put a front mount between there. Would this be a worthwhile thing to do? It will cost me $30 at the most and I figure the air will go through the fmic and get cooler and then the smic can cool it some more or 'recool' it. I see no reason why this wouldn't work or what the negatives of this would be ... what do you guys think? The way the fmic is the new pipes would be very short and very few bends .....

please let me know what you guys think?!

Running 2 intercoolers in series is not a good idea. It would be pretty inefficient and have too much pressure drop. Your best bet would be to find out how good the Saab core is and see if its worth swapping to.

I was wondering if anyone has sseen or know if it's possible to install more than one side mount intercoolers? I was thinking of adding another side mount in the Front.
