Richmond Hill,
Is it possible to have 2 intercoolers in your car, one that is mounted in the front, and another mounted behind the passenger side wheel and have them connected? This is on a 92 talon turbo.

Take a look at the IRC street kit. RRE also sells a pretty kit that fits in your price range.

The NX intercooler requires a nitrous kit. I think that is one of the stupidest products ever. If you spayed the amount of nitrous you were wasting on your intercooler into your throttle body you would gain 100hp.

No it will not. Air flow dynamics do not work that way. Thats like saying that one 3inch pipe with flow as much as three 1inch pipes where it a 3inch pipe will acctually flow 3 times as much as three 1inch pipes.

It will probablly only cool 1.75 or maybe 2x as much as a stock cooler, which is nowhere near what a real FMIC will flow. A good spearco core will flow 10X as much.

if anyone wants to kno if 2 or 3 stock intercoolers work they do, my buddy and i found 3 of them cut the ends off put 2.5 outlets on them and welded it all together it was the best investment i have ever made cuz it flows excellent and its really cheap theres no leaks depending on who welds it if you are gonna do it remember to use an aluminum rods

Not really, all the 3 of the intercoolers are the same size and have the same volume.
So whatever 1 can flow so will the other 2.

In no way am I comparing three 1 inch pipes to one 3 inch pipe.
More like three 3 inch pipes.

It will cool much better than 1 core alone, its mounted up front has 3 times the volume. So now the air will be more evenly dispersed lowering velocity, which will result in better cooling. From the air staying in the tubes longer.

I don't need an intercooler that can flow 1200 cfm, considering the turbo I will be getting will flow half that. If I later decide I don't want it and wanna go bigger then I will. No big deal...

i am thinking of having him build a 2g twin sidemount kit for my car i have already found a few intercoolers for about 50 to 60 dollars for the drivers side. And he said he will design me one. I have been looking at it on there web site and i like what i see. As they compare it to stock. Tell me what you guys think about the idea, i really dont want a fmic b/c they are expensive and i dont want a hole in my new apexi core b/c of a rock.

don't forget to remove the bumper air block on the driver's side if you do this.

well a little bit of lag wouldn't be too bad on a fwd. a little lag might help in the traction department.

what size turbo are you running, boost, fuel, motor mods, exaust, and why the hell would you put two side mounts on a car?? I would think the supra side mount would be fine because if you have a turbo that big with that much boost buy a reall IC, I also agree with the long piping and two IC that you might get some form of turbo lag with the t-25 but my Galant with the DSM performance FMIC and the Mutt 1, I also had the mutt on a stock side mount and along with the really low compression in the motor, it had more lag then befor. I say dont run two side mounts.

the abs pump... thing... unit... whatever you want to call it is in the way of the piping. so you can't have a twin sidemount set-up if you have abs.

i doubt it... i mean you could try put that would require some custom tubing for the pump lines. If you're really insistant on getting the twin sidemount then i suggest you just remove the abs system all together. i think there is a thing on how to do it at vfaq.com if not i think i have a link somewhere.

I am looking for someone who has welded together 3 stock sidemount ic's ive searched and haven't found much at all on it. I wish to know how well it works with your setup and how it came out, looking for some pics if at all possible. and how happy you are bang for buck wise. Thanks alot
