So I am itching to get the car back on the road now that it's AWD, but, my DSS driveshaft is 3/4" too short. I welded the rear carrier bearing bracket according to where the DSS shaft ended, but didn't realize it was too short for the stock rear shaft to reach the differential.

I've been reading that some muscle guys use spacers for things like this when doing engine swaps and run very quick 60' and 1/4 mile times with no issue. If I can find a place to make me a spacer, other than the space I need filled in and telling them that its going in a drag car, is there anything else I should be telling them?

Why did you move the bracket? The driveshaft shop shaft is long enough, it just doesn't go completely into the t-case. If you bottomed out the yoke in the t-case to get your measurement, that's what's wrong.

I didn't move the bracket, it's just where I welded it in for the AWD swap. There's about 1/2" play with the yoke in the transfer case and I still have 3/4" I'm missing at the diff end. I don't want to leave too much play as people have twisted the yokes splines on launches where the shaft was sticking out too far.

Thanks Miliman. I didn't think to check YouTube about this.
