I will be ordering the pte bb 50 trim and i am still deciding weather or not to get dsmlink,i know its a lot better then a afc but number wise, like say with afc i run 12.5 1/4 and i use dsmlink how much better can it be. I probaly should casue i heard to get the power out of the 50 trim i should get bigger then 650cc which means no afc.(unless you know how to tune it real good)

thanks guys:dsm:

You can use up to 750cc with an AFC, it's just a pain in my opinion. If you use an AFC you WILL need a logger. I switched to dsmlink and love it. Tuning is so quick now. Also, it lets you tune timing and fuel seperately. The AFC, if you remove fuel, you add timing. If you have patience and know what you are doing, your 1/4 mile times would be very close. If you have the cash go dsmlink but it's not necessary.

P.S. I have 750cc injeters, SAFC, and a logger for sale in the classifieds. I'd still go for dsmlink if it was me. It kicks ass.

yea i have safc and logger with 550 with evo3, i just sold my talon so i think i will go for dsmlink,i know it doesnt matter what size injectors, but whats good, sounds like dsmlink is easy to use.
thanks for the info

DSMlink all the way. You'll be kicking your own ass if you dont. The ability to tune for knock is worth it alone. Not to mention all the other great features they have put in it.

There is a pretty big difference in price between the two, especially if you don't have an eprom. With injectors that large though, I'd would just get DSMLink to make it easier on yourself.

durr, dsmlink ftw.

lets see, dsmlink controls timing, fuel, airflow, and a bunch of other shit. you can log everything the ecu sees at around 300 samples per second(and thats logging around 10 things at once), and you can also add on stuff like wb a/f meters, map sensors and log them as well, making tuning so easy.

with safc/logger, you can log rpm, timing and o2 volts, and thats at most, 3 samples per second. then you can only adjust fuel via the safc.

for the whole dsmlink setup(varying on 1g/2g versions) is gonna run you around 900 bucks (unless you find deals). it gets costly if you need a laptop, but even that can be found cheap, if all you want to do is run dsmlink once a week, you can find a 400mhz lappy for around 2-300 bucks.

a safcII is 250$ on ebay. a palm m505 is 100$. pocketlogger setup is 130$(for 2g's, 1g's can make their own 5$ cable and get the software online).

after comparing prices and abilities of each, it becomes apparent that dsmlink is far worth the extra couple hundred for basically full control of youre tuning

Im pulling a lot of airflow from my car because I bumped up the base fuel pressure, wanted to run leaner anyways, and a gm maf in blowthrough reads really rich at wot (at least for me that is). this has caused my ignition timing to go crazy. If you plan on using a larger turbo that flows more, don't expect to be able to just pull airflow out to compensate for larger injectors and such, because you'll run into the same problem as me. I need to get dsmlink to be able to compensate for my super advanced ignition timing. Im sure I could run a lot leaner with dsmlink as well. I would go with the link

Thanks for the info guys, yea i already have a laptop,so thats good, and i can sell my afc and logger to help a little. Someone told me w/ dsmlink you can use any injecotrs like 650,750 and i also heard the stock 450???

You can run just about whatever injectors are needed. I know for sure 450 and 550's. You just need to make sure you have the right tuning done for whatever injectors you are currently running. When you send in your ecu they also socket it and add their chip to it which is calibrated for whatever injectors you plan on running. Although, you can alaways change the chip or just the tune on the software.

You can use any (dsm) injector you want with dsm link.
You just change the global and dead time.

The distinct advantage of DSMLink is the userfriendly environment. Almost any ameture can get a "dyno tune". It's so, so worth it, if you plan on changing and upgrading over time.

:dsm: LINK ROCKS!

Would never go back to an AFC. It's so user friendly, you drive around log, then adjust on the fly.

Not to mention the DSMLINK forums are so helpful.
