If 300hp-350hp is what Ill only get then that would be suffice. Would I be able to get away with just a SAFC then?
 
I run just a chip that my buddy made for me and i get an 11.0-11.5 a/f perfect. My 3rd gear pull is pretty powerful after i put the chip in. I am about to pick up a logger and safc. I would do this so you can work off what your reading from the logger. I think my car has more potential if i can turn the full fuel curve myself with the assist of the chip. I would like to lean out my pre boost setting so i can spool it faster. I think you would gain alot if you went with a logger, chip, and safc 2.
 
If you stay under 650's then yes a safc should be fine. 2g's have low timing so you really dont need to control it that much. To hit your goal I would look into some meth injection. This will allow your injectors to go further and run more boost.
 
i want to look into meth injection, i don't really know anything about it, as to what is a good kit, where to get one and how it works, but i am sure i can find out on this site somewhere.
 
so how does this whole chip work? Do you just tell him all your mods and injector size, the psi you will be set at and he tunes the chip as close as he can? of course if i had the chip i would install a wideband guage but im still trying to figure this all out.
 
Here is what jeff has done to my latest chip. This is the latest burn that he has done for me. Its a dual image chip. Im using maft Generation 2 for fine tunning and to add or take away timing on top of what Jeff sets the timing maps at.I run straight e85 right now and havent ran 93 in at last 2 months I can tell you that 29psi on a bw s259 with 24degrees of timing on e85 is alot of fun.ROFL Much props to Jeff he is genius on these chips and his customer service is the best. Dont doubt keydiver he knows his shit. This is the 4th chip he has burned for me and you cant be 20bucks for the reburn when you change your set up or injectors.

well i will be using 660cc injectors. how does he compensate for what boost your going to run?
 
It doesnt matter what turbo or boost your run. He sets up the global and deadtimes to match your injector. If you buy the injectors through him he has the flow sheets infront of him so your tune is that much closer. You need a and wideband and some type of logger if really want to get serious. If you put a big ass turbo your going to run out of fuel anyway and ves versa if your turbo is small then your not going to have to worry about it. Thats why you need a wideband and logger. To see knock your fuel trims and see your afrs:thumb:
 
well i installed the eprom ecu today with the dsmchip bought as a package from jeff he socketed and installed the chip and sent me the ecu i just plugged it in changed my plug wires around and now my car wont start, well im going to start another thread on this but if you have any suggestions let me know.
 
im def using a wideband guage and running an e316g. also using the maf translator that i have. with that i dont need an afc corrrect? how is that compared to an safc?

Honestly Im not using the translator that you have. I dont like that thing and it can be a pain in tha ass to tune. That is the old school version. This is what I have. Its translator,safc, controls timing, has wide band tracking. FULL THROTTLE SPEED - Item Description Page I love this thing I havent had any issues with it with tempreture changes or humidity.
 
i know its old, i got it like 4 years ago. will it still give me the ability to ajust fuel with the keydiver chip if i needed. im only goin to run 92-93 octane pump gas at like 23lbs. to me it just seems very simple when looking at the translator.

It is but it isnt. Are your running your car with 2g mas or gm maf? If your running just with the 2g maf just put the chip in and run the car like that. If your running the gm maf then your ecu is going to missing some value the baro and iat. Those two values can change your tune with temp. The gm maf doesnt have those and there is no way for your ecu to calculate those. So one day your car can be running like a champ the next like a lame duck. If your running 2g maf just run off the chip. I ran a big16g and 2g maf with 550s and thats all for a long time and the car ran great. untill i learned more about tunning is when I got a afc and played with that for a while. Then I had the translator. Now i got the generation 2. IF your just starting out keep it simple.Get a logger so you can see what your car is doing learn bout fuel trims and what they mean and do etc etc.
 
i have the gm maf. so using the gm maf and his chip, i cant use the translator to adjust what is needed. ive been in this a while but i just dont know much about the keydiver and tuning possibilities. i was just going to get dsm link but i came across this a while back and it just seemed pretty easy with him burning to your mods.
 
You can try it man. Im telling with experince I had the translator. I would tune my car with it and get it to run right then next day car ran like ship. Try it man it works just not the greatest thing for tunning. To answer you question with the chip its going to be allot easier.
 
Oh yeah way better Jeff actually sets the chip up to run the generation 2 See where it says set to emulate 2g mas and he also locks in the values needed for the ecu to run right.

Wires in more like afc very simiple took me about 30 min and i soldered all my connections. Set the gen 2 up for gm maf input and 2g output and few more things very simple to use car fired right up.
