    Hello!
I would like to buy new dsm68hta turbo from FP.
    My question is :
I think that TURBO requires oil feed from OFH. FP says that turbo does need a oil restrictor but I want to do BS removal and ofh porting because my oil pressure will definitely increase, so i dont know if i need to buy oil feed restrictor in this case or ofh porting will be enough?
If oil restricor, which size ?

You will need an oil restrictor, I believe .075" is the correct size, but I would call and talk to FP directly for proper sizing.
Much of it will depend on what your actual pressure is at the ofh. If it's high, you need a restrictor. Low, you don't need one.

How do you know it needs a restrictor? I called fp on Friday and they told me the 68hta does NOT need a restrictor. It also doesn’t mention anything on their website

I think because of stock oil pressure at wot will be 65-70 psi max and turbo operating oil pressure is 35-65 psi for 68hta i guess BUT if u do balance shaft removal, your oil pressure will increase to 80-100 psi at wot maybe more. Thats why u need to port OFH to reduce oil pressure, but if that doesn't help much and your actual oil pressure will be more than 65-70 psi at wot, u need to buy oil restrictor to reduce oil pressure at turbo.
Of course all of this only if u have oil feed line from OFH that 68hta requires I believe ?
They at FP say that u does NOT need a restrictor because they didnt know if u do Balance shaft removal or not so they think that u have a balance shaft so your oil pressure should be 65-70 psi at wot what is good for 68hta.
That whats in thinking im right ?
And I repeat my question everything more than 65-70 psi at wot means that i need restrictor ?

Do not run a restrictor. Remove the balance shafts properly port the ofh and you will not get over 75psi or so as long as you let the car warm up before thrashing it.

Any bushing turbo you want to live at high boost should be oiled straight from the ofh with no restrictor. Just make sure the drain flows enough to keep oil from backing up into the cartridge.
