Well, I sold my 1992 lowered P'up... Ironically, the car that came up just after it was the 1994 Laser RS that is now sitting in my driveway... Today after cruising for a bit, the car starts smoking... I pop the hood and let her cool down for about an hour... Joe (like an idiot) pops the coolant system open, and is sprayed by boiling hot antifreeze... he's not badly burned, but he'll be feeling it in the morning.

Anyway, the water pump is out, the tranny needs tuning, and the engine needs a tune-up, and it needs some bondo work, and quite a few new (or junkyard) pieces.

Ahh well, she's my winter car, and my first DSM. I am quite confident that I'll be replacing half the parts on that car, but that's what a junkyard is for. I already need a left visor, right visor clip, and wiring harness for the stock stereo/CD Player. Quick question... Are all the stereo wires the same from Talon to Eclipse to Laser?

She's a nervous wreck, in need of bondo, primer, repainting, and getting the ugly pinstriping off of it, but I still really like the car... even though it tried to kill Joe already... I think the car is just moody... Joe said he didn't like it.... then the car puked up a bunch of coolant at him. Either way, the car is a pile, but for $700.00 for a 1994 Laser RS (N/T Auto FWD), ya can't go wrong... cuz I can always take it back through the auction... if not, I'll justkeep it around until I can find a running parts car next spring when the Isuzu is done... finally get my AWD Turbo 5spd Laser RS (easier to get a parts car and swap the engines and drive trains with a GSX or TSi... cuz those cars in 1g are hard to find!

Either way, I am already starting to grow fond of her.

Well you can get familiar with the vehical as you mess with it for when you get a Turbo model and start working on some power. I'd read as much of the VFAQ and other stuff as possible to get familiar with common issues with DSM's. If you don't like the pinstripe(who does) then the next one get an eclipse or talon. Unless you dig the Euro look with no spoiler, just not my preferance.

The talon eclipse and lasers are identical except for badgeing and body molding for the most part.

I got a laser recently I'm getting talon molding for as well as the spoiler. I'm sort of in the same spot as you. I'm fixing this turbo FWD laser I got for $750 to sell it @ profit so I can get an AWD turbo eclipse or talon. If you check my gallery you'll see how fugly it is now..looks like I purchased it from a clown.

BTW dsmtrader.com and ebay can save you TONS on parts. you'll often see people on dsmtrader selling stuff really cheap. They are often going to the junkyard and they'll sell things for the cost of the effort to remove and ship the parts. I got a spoiler for $23.50 shipped!
