My original engine (that I know of) is at the 15?,000 mark, tranny cracked and I may have crankwalked so I'm waiting to locate a cyclone engine.

This is by no means extra ordinary but I've got 130k on my 1990. She's still running like a champ. Its not super powerful either. That's going to change soon! :D The drivetrain right now is another story. I need to replace my u-joints and carrier bearings so I can start driving her again. I'm also interested in seeing how long some of these motors are holding together.

I'm going to be cracking the 300 thousand mark here pretty soon. Kilometers, that is :) All I have is exhaust, MBC, and a home made intake, but it's a reliable daily driver and I'm going to get to some serious work on it in the spring. Body is rust free, motor still runs good albeit with a bit of blowby, it is a very well taken care of car before and after I got my hands on it.

I've got 155k miles on mine that I just bought this past week. We'll see how she holds up with improvement...although I've already started a side savings fund for a new engine swap down the road.

I just bought a 90 GST that has 233,000 original miles, The cams lobs are worn down from the roller rockers. The funny ting is the car rips, the original owner took vary good care of the car. I bought it because the interior was "Show room condition" and everthing in the car works. lets face it, there are not to many 15 year old DSM 100% stock or original owners.

My car has 135,000 miles, still on stock 6 bolt I am the second owner of the car and it runs great. My mods are big 16G turbo, upper inner cooler pipe, Boost Controler, 2.5 inch full exhaust. Just re did the timming belt water pump balance shaft belt and all tensioners my compression is 150 strait across. I dont really run my car that hard. She sees the track 3 times a year.

:talon:

I have a 1990 all wheel drive Talon with 184,000 miles on it. Original motor, tranny, and turbo. Motor runs great, tranny shifts good, and lets pray the turbo lasts until I finish college. :D

I have a 1990 Laser that just turnerd over 170k miles last week. It wasn't modded until it was at 130k. It still has the original motor. The head and oil pan have never been removed. I did a compression test last month and got 145 to 150 psi across all 4. It just barely passed smog check, tho.

Got 151,000 on mine, so I can just squeak into this thread. I'm the original owner, so I know it's been fairly well
cared for. My power mods are pretty recent, though.

My 1990 TSi AWD has 162K, I bought it new. The internals are still stock and never been opened. I took good care of this car since I drove it off the dealer's lot. I have lots of mods though, like big 16G, 550s, fmic, 255 walbro, 3"exhaust, and many other stuff. It my daily driven car, and it's always been a blast to drive my car since day one. I did all the mods myself and I'm planning to rebuild it myself next year.

I have 74,000 on my 91 with stock internals and everything else. I just bought it a week ago from the original owner. I hope it lasts another 74,000. Let the modding begin.

I'm the original owner of a 90 TSI. It has 158,000 miles on it now. Timeing belt blew during garage start at 58,000 and had a couple of valves rebuilt. At 110,000 replaced the clutch and timeing belt. At 130,000 replaced brakes. At 150,000 locked up turbo - replaced and replaced exhaust manifold. I just replaced timeingbelt/balance belt and all moving parts related to them. Required maintenance has always been performed or better. This car has minor mods such as intake/exhaust mods and has been driven hard but not run in drags. I'm going to install boost gage and controller and drive it till I need to replace engine. The last time I checked compression they were around 135 but still runs strong. I plan on running at 15 psi with the controller and see how it goes. :talon: :thumb:

I've got 180K on my bottom end and turbo, 1990 TSI AWD was at 175K and running great, but I got rear-ended and the body was screwed. While the motor was out to swap into a '93 chassis, I had the head rebuilt.

From 0-126K, an old guy drove it, from 126K to 140K, it was stock while I did maintanance type things. 140K - 175K it had rewired stock fuel pump, no cat, hacked MAF, BCS bypassed, ran ~16 psi. The last 5000 miles have been on a rebuilt head, but I didn't touch the bottom end (still had great compression and looked fine on a visual go over), now has 2G mani/o2 housing, no cat, Walbro 255 (not rewired), BCS restrictor removed (13-14 psi), and still runs great, doesn't smoke, and doesn't tick. Once springtime rolls around we'll see what it runs in the 1/4 :D I'm hoping to get to 200K without touching the internals (and hopefully on the original turbo as well :thumb: , so we'll see what happens.

I have a 1991 talon NT 2.0 I bought in 1997 with 89K miles on it. It now has 229,000 miles on it and never had it apart except a new valve cover gasket and timing belts. Original lifters too, but they are noisy until it warms up. It uses a quart of oil every thousand miles due to work valve stem seals.

My other dsm is a 1993 talon TSI AWD. I bought it 19 months ago with a swapped in 2G engine that was bad. I installed a 155K 92 6-bolt engine in it and it now has 8K more on it, so 163K on it. It gets 30 on the highway even with the E316G and is shifted at the redline daily on 15 PSI. it uses a half quart between oil changes. compression is 150-150-153-155.

the 4G63 is an amazing engine.

163,000 miles on the original bottom end here, with a rebuilt head from a previous owner not changing the timing belt. I purchased it at around 150,000 miles and have added an Evo III 16G, 750cc GM-style injectors borrowed from my Turbo Buick (they can be made to fit), 2G MAF, 2G exman, 2.5" turboback exhaust, hot-wired Walbro 190, UICP, and a homebrew chip.

I autocross and rallycross the car as often as I can. Its also my daily driver, seeing 19psi and 7500rpm every day. Doesn't even leave any spots on the driveway. Only problems thus far have been old hoses and the original ECU dieing.

My car has 158,000 on the 7 bolt. The head was replaced due to timing belt failure. The bottom end has not been touch and running strong.

170k miles on original motor here. Compression 150 across the board. It uses Mitsu metal headgasket, ARP headstuds. Although it burns some oil, its still running strong. I usually have to add about a quart between every oil change.

19x,000 miles stock longblock save for replacing the oil pump(wasn't bad, just for peace of mind to make sure everything was well lubed with higher heat and rpms) and adding an air/air oil cooler while i was removing the balance shafts. Its running with 880cc injectors, a 20g turbo @21 psi, ACT 2900lb clutch, original stock tranny and it sees at least 8k rpms at least once every time i drive it and i drive it almost every day. No problems other than a small oil leak and random lifter tick.

I am sitting at around 285K on mine. I did opt to overhaul my engine when my clutch went south just because it was around 282K and it was going to be out. During the overhaul I didn't have any badly worn parts. Didn't have to bore the block or replace more than a couple valves. Looks like these things can go forever with the right care
P.S. I have had the car since 35 miles on it (new) 1990 Eagle Talon AWD

My 90 eclipse hit 170,000 miles a couple days ago and ive been stressing over how long my engine could last me....My question is how long could an average turbo 4g63 last if its very well mantained ....I would like it to last very well into this year so what kind of work should I do to get it to last longer...Thanx...Ps mods will be coming :dsm: :thumb:

Your engine will last exactly 34,560 more miles. So if you drive as much as the average person, your engine should last about another two years. Maintenance has no bearing on how long the engine will last, as every engine has an internal clock on its lifespan that is set in stone and cannot be changed.

Really????!!!!!! Internal clock that will stop the engine......I drive a little less than the average person..Except on weekends :dsm: :thumb: Really a clock and exactly 34,000 left OMG
