DSM Link V2 question

So I found a really good price on a 1g ecu with dsm link v2. Now my question is even though it has dsmlink v2 can you tune with the v3 software?

The software isn't system specific. It will work with all versions. IT will ask what setup you are using when you set it up. Everything is free to download on ecmlink's website. Make sure that you get a cable with the setup because they won't sell a cable separately.

Actually they do sell the cable seperately . just two months i bought a spare.

I beleave he meant the old V2 cable in that case its 2g's that you have to have the cable

You can use a V3 cable for v2 in a 1g though.....(Not like they advertise it though) Just make sure you get the 1g V2 Memory board or youll be SOL and its more then likely not a real Dsmlink package

The Keyspan adapter is used if your laptop does not have a native serial port built in.

Personally I do not like to use adapter and I use the V3 USB Cable.

I have one for sale, If you need it shoot me a PM. Never been used or connected to a laptop/car.

Last time I seen a new Keyspen Usb adapter it was $48

The V3 Cable is only $39 an is just one cable no messing with multiple cables
